Anyone lost their sex drive for it to miraculously re-appear?

Have been with my DP for nearly 5 years and in the whole time we have been together, although i have enjoyed sex, I have never been that bothered about it.
DP would always be the initiate things as i would 9 times out 10 just get into bed and go to sleep. To be honest, DP has been very patient with me as i have always had (what i would consider) a very low sex drive, whereas he would be happy to give it a go every day of the week.

It has previously caused numerous rows between us, DP thinking i can't love him or fancy him as i would be more interested otherwise.

However, I am glad to say that since having our DD my sex drive has appeared with a vengance. Even to the degree of having a bit of hanky panky before he went football training last night and then me sitting up witing for him to get in for a repeat performance (only for him to just want to go to sleep !!!!! )

Just find it a bit odd that it has suddenly appeared out of no-where when previously showed no signs of wanting to come out and play - Anyone else had this?

The things I talk about on here - my sis will be shocked!!

Yeah, I was the same after all of them. Think it was hormones though, because it didnt last Im afraid - much to dh's disappointment!

Strangely enough, the only time I do feel rampant is during my period - hormones again!!

from previous threads on the sex subject I can't see you getting much response on here

MrsDoolittle · 23/09/2004 14:20

How old is your dd? I have always had a pretty high sex drive, more so than dh. As much a curse as anything I think sometimes.
Anyway, since dd was born 6 months ago - I've had the most amaxing orgasms!!!

(Amaxing??? That was a typo but quite a cool one, don't you think?)

SpringChicken · 23/09/2004 18:28

Since having started this thread DP and i have done nothing but row - trypical as i had been looking forward to fun all day long

Yep, that happened to me too SC, Dh thanked his lucky stars more than once I can tell you!

I'm afarid to say I agree with MIAM as it didn't stay at that unbelieveable level for long. It is better than what it was though as before DS3 (who'll be 1 tomorrow!!) I wasn't bothered about it at all.

Let just say, now I'm bothered

marthamoo · 23/09/2004 18:56

Yes to the first bit of the question - no to the second. Springchicken - what are you eating/drinking/do you think it's catching? Could do with a bit of a libido boost!

marthamoo · 23/09/2004 18:57

10 weeks!!!!!! I am flabbergasted - go girl

SpringChicken · 23/09/2004 20:23

Clearly a pointless excercise though as DP has just sat watching the bleeding tele all evening long!!!! GRRRRRRRR

10 weeks! Most of my friends tell me they left it 10 MONTHS before their DHs were near them again!

I'd get stuck in if I were you, in case it wears off.

I'm the reverse: always had a pretty high sex drive, got back into things quickly after DS was born, now we've got DD as well (5 months), I really cannot be arsed. I just never even think about it. Poor DH

fee77 · 23/09/2004 21:10

What's sex? Let alone drive!!!
Rampant the first few years we were together, then quitened down, then rampant when trying for baby, put on hold whilst pregnant (worried he might squash it!) and now just too knackered. My husband would do "it" every hour of every day if he could, so he is very frustrated!

TraceyP · 23/09/2004 21:28

10 weeks??? Bl**dy hell, dd is 3 and a half and once a month is about as much! Even then I'm just waiting for him to pull my nightie down when he's finished!
