Not sure why I have all these nerves about it, will be my first session. I feel really anxious and don’t know why

I did the freedom program. It was a fantastic group , learnt a lot.

Some of it was hard to hear but leaders were very supportive as were other group members

It’s really brilliant OP very relaxed leaves you empowered and helps changes your mindset from victim to survivor. Good luck and be kind to yourself after the sessions as it can be slightly triggering. Sending you all the Flowers

StillWeRise · 26/09/2019 22:47

you'll be fine
you can just sit and listen if you like
it can be hard...but when you hear other women's experiences you realise you aren't alone
line up a treat for yourself for afterwards- a nice coffee or a walk in the park (if it's sunny Grin)

This course is highly recommended for anyone in or coming out of an abusive relationship. It is empowering and informative.
Like somebody else said, you may get triggered by the subject matter, so be kind to yourself afterwards! Treat time! BrewCakeFlowers

I don’t know why I’m so nervous.

I hope you got on okay with the course.
It really helped me discover all the abuse I had been put through, not just by my ex h but my family and some friends as well.
It was incredibly validating to hear about the different forms of abuse.
I hope it went well.Flowers

It was a really good session! I actually enjoyed it, I didn't think I would.

So glad you did . I was in a lovely group, some weeks are tougher than others but really useful

Neverbroken · 29/09/2019 20:34

They've said it can get tough but I think I'm in a place where I'm ready to face it all. I've been through more than my fair share

Stick with it. I found it a great help.
The week that triggered me was to do with children and abuse, that was a tough one.

Neverbroken · 30/09/2019 00:10

It will feel good to be heard when I used to point out to my daughters dad he used to compare it to the way his friends would punch their girlfriends as if choking me or threatening me is better

StillWeRise · 01/10/2019 21:49

yeah, that's a common tactic 'what are you complaining about I only (pushed/slapped/threw something/verbally abused) you
the only acceptable level of abuse in a relationship is NONE
hope you go again this week, OP
stay strong Flowers

Neverbroken · 01/10/2019 22:17

I will, I don't feel as nervous as I did last week. The women running it made me feel very comfortable
