9th anniversary gift ideas

My 9th anniversary is coming up and each year I go with the "theme" for each milestone - so last year for 8 years (copper) I got him a copper pen which was also a tool. It was cheap but he loved it as it was practical and unusual. The price doesn't matter. Some years I splash out, others I buy a pen Grin

This year its pottery and willow, and I just can't find anything that's not naff. The closest I've come is a pottery class, but DP works shifts and I don't want to risk booking a class when he's working - plus I'm not sure we need any more bloody mugs or crockery, the kitchen is overflowing as it is!

Any ideas would be much appreciated! except for buying a tree as we really don't have the space for a willow in the garden!

Yeah I've searched online and wasn't really impressed, which is why I was asking what others had gifted Smile

I don’t know much about the wood but why don’t you buy a nice bowl or something ornamental made out of willow? Maybe get it engraved? I love the sentimental ideas for gifts you are really thoughtful OP

I saw a chap at a summer fair who had plaited willow stems that you plant and they remain small. Lollipop style - can't remember the technical name for it!

Look at unwins woven willow plants. I can't copy the link for some reason!

Cricket bats are made from willow wood.

Ooh that's a lovely idea Leah2005 I didn't know you could get ones the stay small - like houseplants I'm guessing? And we could take it with us when we move!

And thank you Cherrypicker01 I'm a sucker for sentimentality, luckily DP seems to enjoy it too! Grin
