AIBU to ask for your help?

Okay Hivemind,

Today my partner suggested that I find out my ring size and then asked me to give him an idea of what rings I Iike!

So far, so wonderful! Except I've never thought about it before! I think I'd like a 'princess' cut (I called it a square 🤦🏼‍♀️) with more little stones down the side? However, I'm also quite fond of the ones that have a twist to the metal!

AIBU to ask for help in looking at ideas? I've checked H samuel and Ernest Jones and that's about all I can think of 😂.

Anyone who's feeling the love tonight, come and give me inspiration!

TIA 😊

Oooh ... 😍

Have a look at bluenile.com I know that's where my DH got mine after one of my besties mentioned that's where he got his wife's.

You can choose different settings, shapes, metals, and then even sort diamonds by quality/cost.

Also have a think about which are generally your favourite rings that you wear regularly. This will give you a bit more of a guide to what you'll actually feel comfortable wearing daily. If you're job is hands on, you may not want one that sticks out to far.

I don't wear any rings 🙈 My job isn't very 'hands on' I think sticking out will be okay.
Excuse me whilst I check out that website.....

Once you have an idea of what you think you might like, pop into a couple of high street stores and try a few on.

They may well look and feel different to how you think they will, especially if you don't normally wear rings.

You don't have to have a central diamond either. It could be a gemstone only or with diamonds on the shoulders. It could be a modern design, classic design or even vintage.

What's your normal dress style? Are you super funky / very vintage / normal / fashionista?

Not quite so romantic, but could you suggest you look together? That way you'll get something you really like that feels right for you.

DH was well aware how fussy I am about jewellery so he proposed in a lovely, romantic way & then we went to choose a ring together the next day. I really would not have liked being presented with a ring as a fait accompli.

Needtobuildabridge · 23/09/2019 17:19

@Dramaalpaca that was my opinion, buying the ring first is so presumptuous! 😂
But he wants to 'be romantic' and suprise me with it! I guess this way is a nice middle ground between both of us!

Any more ideas for where to look anyone? 😁
