What's this on credit card statement?

I've noticed a payment on my DP credit card statement new-clic.com, Barcelona 99 euro. I'm pretty sure it's porn related but if I ask him he'll say he doesn't know or minimise it. Just wondering would anyone know what it's about..address doesn't bring me to a website??

Have you read what it says on the website?

New-clic.com or new-clic appears on your bank statement but you have forgotten to which web site it refers?
It means that you have made a purchase on one of our sites.
For any information you can contact us following this link.

Was the amount 99 euros?

Humanswarm · 17/09/2019 22:07

Is it possibly a scam??

BringTheBounceBack · 17/09/2019 22:13

I mean it’s 99 euros, I wouldn’t let that one go without an explanation

BishopofBathandWells · 17/09/2019 22:15

A cursory Googling has also brought up those accursed vape things. Might it be something like that?

Barkingdogs123 · 17/09/2019 22:22

I'm not sure about the vaping..probably not. I'm waiting on an email back from the site. Thanks for the replies.

That's a huge amount of money to spend on porn if that's what it is.

SouthernComforts · 17/09/2019 22:33

Weird that the website only has that on the home page. Very cryptic.

missmouse101 · 17/09/2019 22:36

You can ring the credit card company. They'll be able to give you more information about the transaction and the payee.

Everytimeiseeher · 17/09/2019 22:37

I used to work in a bank and usually something small like that comes off before fraud. They check it’s a live account with a small transaction first.

OrchidInTheSun · 17/09/2019 22:40

You used to work in a bank everytime? 99 euros is about 90 quid! Think most people would notice that Grin

LadyPips · 17/09/2019 22:51

Does your DP speak French or have any connections with France?

Weezol · 17/09/2019 22:53

I worked in banking too and Every is correct. You or I would notice €99 but
you'd be amazed at how many people fail to keep track of their credit card spending.

Not uncommon to get a panicked/furious call when a customer's card is suddenly declined at a restaurant as it's maxed out.

A quick look back over the transactions and I'd see a patteren of succesful dips over a few weeks - odd numbers are preferrred as they don't stand out.

Barkingdogs123 · 17/09/2019 23:16

Doesn't speak French or have anything to do with France. The same thing came out 6 months ago but nothing since that till last month..maybe it is a scam..

Another result looks like it could be to do with crypto currency. Could it be that?

LadyPips · 17/09/2019 23:26

The person who owns the website on the statement also owns a couple of French adult dating sites. Moodplanet dot com being one. You can pay approx that amount for a 6 month subscription. Could this be an old subscription that he forgot to cancel?

Barkingdogs123 · 17/09/2019 23:31

Ladypips
Yes that's what I'm thinking because it has come off the credit card exactly 6 months later.

And does anyone wonder why you are checking your bf’s credit card?
Presumably he is an adult making his own money and can spend his share (after bills of you live together) as he pleases?

If you are unhappy with him - leave. Or are you looking for a reason/justification to give you some high ground to? You don’t need any.

Barkingdogs123 · 18/09/2019 09:29

Mm you're probably right, I should just leave it. He is free to make his own choices, eventhough I don't agree with them. Thanks everyone for the replies.

You don't trust him and you know he'll lie to you HmmBiscuit
