Friend of mine got married recently as started me wondering about the marriage registrations that you have to complete for a civil ceremony. I know that for a church wedding, the banns have to be read a certain number of weeks before so general public have the chance to object to the marriage. How does it work for a civil marriage? Are the marriage registrations available to public view somewhere? Is it possible to find out online where someone is getting married?
Theres no reason I need to know any of this btw - I'm just mildly curious!
