My partner has stayed every night with me for the last four weeks. He has his own flat which he goes to when he finishes work to get cleaned up and changes,(he's a lorry driver). He brings round his work clothes for the next day but otherwise he leaves his clothes there and all his post goes there. We sleep in the same bed eat meals together and occasionally go out but he says we're not living together. Are we in a committed relationship or is he just using me. Thanks

Is he paying you rent? Does he pay for food shopping? Does he pull his weight with housework?

MostlyHappyMummy · 28/08/2019 17:01

Sounds like he's using you. Presumably you're providing all the food and doing all the cooking and cleaning as it's your house.

Hotpinkangel19 · 28/08/2019 17:01

Every night? Do you live in the same area as him? Does he have any post or links to your address?

soapona · 28/08/2019 17:08

Are you inviting him round every evening or does he invite himself?

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 28/08/2019 17:20

Sorry but if he says you're not living together, then you're not. I also think it sounds like he's using you. Does he do his own laundry at his house? Does he ever cook or expect you to feed him every night?

TheFlis12345 · 28/08/2019 17:21

Does he contribute financially at your place?

EileenAlanna · 28/08/2019 17:22

He's using you. Tell him he needs to spend his time at his own place, heating it, buying & cooking meals, cleaning it, & to give you a call when he wants to see you for a night out.
How long have you been seeing him? Please don't say 5 weeks.

lovemenorca · 28/08/2019 17:23

The fact you’re even asking speaks volumes

timshelthechoice · 28/08/2019 17:26

He's using you! WTAF, you have to ask? He's got it all, eh, keeps his own place but has housekeeper, cook, bedwarmer and lower bills all on tap.

MashedSpud · 28/08/2019 17:28

Have you been to his house?

adaline · 28/08/2019 17:31

If he has his own place that he pays rent/bills on he's clearly not living with you, is he?

Mummytwosons · 28/08/2019 17:37

Ask him whats wrong with his own bed.

timshelthechoice · 28/08/2019 17:40

You only occasionally go out, why am I not surprised. He's nice and comfy.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 28/08/2019 17:53

Are we in a committed relationship

Haven't you asked him? Had the "exclusive" conversation?

If he's got his own place then he's not living with you.

SpringLake · 28/08/2019 17:56

If he's been at yours every night for four weeks, I'd hazard the guess that,if nothing else, his home insurance is invalid!

Oysterbabe · 28/08/2019 17:59

How long have you been together?

Mumsy969 · 28/08/2019 18:01

He's taking you for a mug, op. He wants all the benefits of your full-time "wife work" but yet won't agree to a "commitment."

Bin him off. You can do a lot better.

Bananalanacake · 28/08/2019 18:03

how long have you been together. say to him you need your own space and you'd prefer it if he stayed one night a week and see how he reacts.

Mumsy969 · 28/08/2019 18:04

he tells me one thing and others something else

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 28/08/2019 18:09

What does he tell you and what does he tell others?

SlightlyWizened · 28/08/2019 18:10

Or suggest staying at his for a few days, the two of you.

gamerchick · 28/08/2019 18:12

He's taking you for a mug. Using your resource so he has minimal costs at home.

Tell him it's your turn to stay at his or he can go home.

MyCatHatesEverybody · 28/08/2019 18:13

He's cocklodging.
