So I am on a couple of dating sites and I match with some ‘nice’ guys. When we message within 2 or 3 sentences it turns to sex?!? I’m blocking men left right and centre because of it!! Is it normal? Beginning to think I CBA with this crap!
I put in bio that I don’t want hook ups etc

You're not choosing the nice guys! There are people on there who don't do this, but you need to be meticulous in your standards. Anyone with poor grammar or a picture of them sticking out their tongue is instantly disregarded!

Sadly this is quite normal. Just block and delete straight away. They're not all like that (believe it or not) but a good percentage of them chance their luck. I don't understand it either.

I’ve heard the free ones are filled with grotty bastards nd the pay ones are better. Not sure how true that is though.

This is the nature of OLD I'm afraid. In my personal opinion the paid sites can be just as bad. Just delete and block and move on and don't entertain them. There are nice guys there you just have to dig deep.

Yep it's normal, I'm blocking people too. The paid ones are better but not immune. And the lying about their jobs .... everyone is a Director or Engineer when they are a self employed lorry driver or car mechanic, I have an aging car, a car mechanic could make a handy boyfriend!

The good news is that I've matched so far with 3 decent types though one was a little keen trying to fly me to New York to meet him (he said London on the profile, turns out he was transiting at Heathrow at the time, stupid app!) Latest I will meet in 2 weeks if he's still up for it ...
