Cheating or embarrassment?

So nearly two year ago me and the oh used 2 condoms put of a pack of 8. We never used anymore....jump forward to last week. We were packing his house up and I came across the box had a look inside and there are only two left. Left it a couple days to have a think about it all. Next I asked him to bring them as we don't want anymore children and best to not risk it. He confirmed that there were 6 in the box (there was defo only two) he then said that there was probably more because the box was ripped and they must have fallen out (the box was fully in tact) he then comes to my house with 6 condoms.....2 with one lot number and 4 with a different one. There is zero chance I would have ever expected him to cheat but we did have a long distance relationship for the first year till I moved to be with him. Could it be a case of using them to "pleasure himself" and not make a mess or the more devastating other option?

The main issue here is not how many are left but the fact that he went and got more so that the total was 6.

If there was nothing to hide there would be no need to do that. As a PP said it would be absolutely fine to have said "Oh how strange I thought there were 6 left but there's only 2, must have fallen in the back of the drawer".
Sorry OP.

Gutted that there is no other explanation :'(

pooopypants · 23/08/2019 16:22

Of course there are other explanations, but you need to be confident that he's telling the truth.

Posh wank is an explanation but only you know if that's likely. There are dozens of other explanations but he needs to 'fess up and you need to be sure you've got the truth from him.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 23/08/2019 16:29

If he was innocent he wouldn't replace them.

If he had half a brain he would realise it's obvious when they will clearly have different numbers/expiry dates on them Hmm

RLEOM · 23/08/2019 16:44

Hmmm, he's gone out of his way to replace them? That's not embarrassment, that's the action of someone who has been DTD with someone else. Sorry Flowers

Skittlenommer · 23/08/2019 17:12

Could be the classic posh wank at play!

It’s quite the treat apparently!

Notthetoothfairy · 23/08/2019 20:39

I agree, replacing them was very suspicious...

Mousetolioness · 23/08/2019 20:58

An intelligent man would have ditched the two older condoms and replaced them with 6 all from the same batch... (Though this might be fallible if the manufacturer prints the batch number on the box as well.)

Mousetolioness · 23/08/2019 21:02

Apologies Lady of the Flowers - just seen you've already made this observation.

PhilCornwall1 · 24/08/2019 07:06

Only he knows the real answer, nobody here can tell you what's happened, they don't actually know.

The chances of him telling you? Based on his actions, probably zero. You just gave to decide what you are going to do next.

MarthasGinYard · 24/08/2019 07:13

It's the replacing that screams lying.

Sorry Op, but if you've never had reason to mistrust I'd attempt a very frank conversation about this.

AmIThough · 24/08/2019 07:21

Why not just tell him you know he replaced them and ask him why?

Notallitseemstobe · 24/08/2019 08:11

Cheaters mistake, over explaining or panicking and making it worse through more lies.
