Solicitors fees

Ok so I’ve posted a few times but now I need advice on solicitors fees

I am married, have a joint mortgage, 2 children 6 and 8 months

My husband left 2 weeks ago. He’s asked for a divorce and wants to come off the mortgage so he can go and buy another house. I want to stay in this house for sake of the children. We’ve only been here 1 year and daughter had to move schools because of the move. Ideally I don’t want anymore change for her. I can afford the mortgage and bills but the mortgage lender would not allow me to mortgage on my own. Husband would need to stay on the mortgage. I know there is a way we can do this until youngest has left full time education.

My ex will not agree to this because he wants to build a new life for himself. He obviously doesn’t care what’s best for the kids. My argument is he has enough income to go and rent a property. This is less upheaval for him than it would be for our children. My question is how much would a solicitor cost to get this put into writing and have him sign and agree it?

It’s called a mercher order.
Usually, can stay in property until youngest one has finished education, up to 20yrs old.
If the mortgage company won’t let you take it on yourself, there’s little you can do. Can you find a guarantor....parents maybe? Once you are divorced he can remove himself or force the sale.
You need proper legal advice. I suggest you find a solicitor who is in family law.
