Working out child support Payments

Hi

Really basic question!

I am trying to work out how the calculation works. So there is a very helpful gov webpage with a calculator.

Now, say if one parent had the children 2 days a week and the other 5 days a week.

I can do the calculator for the parent who only has them 2 days a week, but does the parent who has them 5 days a week need to make a payment to the other parent for those two days?

No, the resident parent will get payment which will be calculated taking into account any deductions the non resident parent is entitled to for overnight stays.

Thank you! I thought I was over complicating it.
