How do I tell him?

How do I tell my boyfriend that I'm leaving because his kids are driving me to a dark dark place mentally. I have suffered with depression for a while now and even though the relationship with my partner is good, his kids are making my life hell. I don't want to go into the details because it upsets me but need some advice on how to break the news.

Could you just tell him what you've told us ?

Do you live together? Would it work to live separately until til they are older

Please just be upfront and tell him the truth. Your mental state is the most important thing to get better and well again. This relationship cannot continue for your sake. It won't be an easy conversation but a necessary one. Have people on hand you trust to help you after the conversation as you will feel wobbly and upset no doubt. Well done for recognising your mental state and what you need to do to improve it. Keep posting.

I've talked about it to him, but he's not really that talkative when it comes to serious issues. He knows I'm struggling a lot and always tries to diffuse the situation when problems arise. I know he's scared of losing me but at the same time he knows he has no choice because he can't just give up his kids for me. We do live together and I would consider living separately but I'm 22 with no job currently so I'd have to move back home which is across the country and he already said he couldn't do long distance.

I would also like to add that my partner owes me a fair amount of money that he can't pay back quickly and if I left I know he wouldn't have a reason to pay it back anymore and I would need that money to get by.

You are so young my lovely. Please consider cutting your losses and head back home. The alternative is to seek GP assistance for help with medication or therapy to get to the route of your depression. Would this improve your home situation if you sort help?

Stay away from men who can't communicate about serious issues. It'll end in tears and they won't be his. And whatever you do, don't lend him any more money.

You're very young to be going through this. You should be carefree and happy, living life to the full. ❤
