Divorce with no children together

Does anyone have any experience of divorce when the children are not from this marriage? My husband has left and thinks that’s it.... no responsibilities at all. We have debts from our time together, most in my name, some in his and some joint.
He earns twice the amount I do and thinks he can run away and leave me with it all.
We have been private renting which is a joint tenancy, I haven’t been able to afford it all, the landlord has been great but i am being evicted at the end of August.
Citizens advice wasn’t great and I know I can get a free half hour with a solicitor but wondered if any of you lovely people have any experience of this type of situation

You need to speak to a solicitor about the position with marital debts. Also pensions - if he has one then you have a potential claim on it.

Even though he earns more than you, if the marriage has debts and no assets then it doesn’t seem likely there’s enough income for court ordered spousal support and the children aren’t his so he isn’t obliged to support them. From what you describe it sounds like there isn’t much to divide up.
