Am I pregnant?

Please help. I took a pregnancy test as soon as I woke up and there was a strong control line and then the rest was blurry with red. I got DH to check and he said there was a second line. I could vaguely see it. I asked him to take a photo and he did but now I’m looking at it it is so blurry. I’ve looked again at the test and now there’s definitely not a line but I think the 15 minute window has gone.

We’ve only had sex twice in the last 6 months since I gave birth. Both times with condoms. Periods have been a bit irregular due to ebf I think.

One looks like a line, the other doesn’t. Can you try again tomorrow? Or buy a digital one.

Not sure, Why don’t you buy another test but a clearer one which just says pregnant or not pregnant?

Bwekfusth · 07/07/2019 11:23

Looks negative to me, check again with a fr in the morning though!

Yes I’ll buy another test that’s digital but I read on here that they are not as sensitive? I don’t think I can wait till tomorrow morning. I might as well take the second one in the packet.

My last period was 5 weeks and 2 days ago.

On the basis of the initial test I do not think you are pregnant.

Do the second test. The digital aren’t as sensitive early on as say a FRER is so if the result is still unclear given etc yourself one of those.

The clear photo is the one taken after the 15 minute window and the blurry one within 5 minutes.

That blurry one really does look like a line to me.

zonkin · 07/07/2019 15:42

There is a line on the blurry one. Not on the other one. The digital tests are not as sensitive and need more HCG presence in the urine.

I took a second test of the same brand and it is negative without a doubt

I had a faint blurry one years ago that then disappeared. I was pregnant. It was so faint at first I didn't see it, but was so sure something was up went back to it in brighter light and saw the faint line. I believe the tests in the early stages are more reliable on the first wee of the day, so to be sure I would do one first thing. Your situation may be different, not saying it will turn out the same but I would suggest another test.

We can’t remember when we last had sex but I’m pretty sure it was more than 2 weeks ago so I would have thought it should be an obvious line by now.

The blurry pic looks like a flooded test rather than a second line. I had one once in the past and was terrified but I definitely wasn’t pregnant. Second test is 100% negative and given the fact you haven’t had unprotected sex, I doubt you’re pregnant.

Breastfeeding can cause irregular periods, mine have been all over the shop since DS was born.
