I fancy the postie!

Hello!

So I'm new to mumsnet. Long time lurker. I'm a 30yo single mum with two daughters.

I'll get straight to it. I order quite a lot of things online so the postie knocks on my door quite often. It's only been recently however that we started talking. Nothing much, just a bit of small talk and maybe light flirting? Hard to tell!

Today was lovely. He knocked this morning and as I answered my little yorkie ran out and he ran after her, picked her up and brought her back. Seems silly but a little gesture like that really meant a lot!

Anyway, I'm hopeless at taking initiative with these sorts of things. I have no idea if he's single and don't really know how to go about finding out?

Thank you!

Wonderful!

I hope you get a first date in the diary! Smile

Hecateh · 03/07/2019 22:41

This is really making me smile
It may or may not come to anything but I love that you are both checking the situation out whilst both edging closer.
It's clear that he isn't taking advantage and immediately assuming a smile and friendly chat means that you are gagging for him.

No rush with this - he's not going anywhere Grin

CantstandmLMs · 03/07/2019 22:42

Loving this by the way and must find out more lol

Bookmarking here eek fingers crossed for you!! 😊

RamblingEm · 03/07/2019 23:07

God, this seriously made me smile. I spent 15 mins having a chat with the RAC bloke in his van after he brought me home from the car garage, asked him if he wanted a drink (I was just being polite to be honest, it was hot as hell) so he came in and 45 minutes later we were still having the longest chat in the kitchen. Except I was blissfully unaware he was putting the feelers out until I relayed the conversation with my mum 4 hours too f’in late as I didn’t know his name or anything. He was an absolute babe and bloody lovely to chat to. I’d of happily slashed my tyres weekly for a while after just to try and get the same RAC bloke again!😂😂😂

DearPru · 03/07/2019 23:12

@ramblingem - oh no!! I’m like you. I wouldn’t pick up on any signals if a guy was giving them out, unless blatantly obvious. I’m also useless at flirting.

Shame you couldnt have got in touch with RAC to pass on a message of the great service the man gave. Maybe your paths would have somehow crossed again x

Emmapeeler · 03/07/2019 23:21

I love this. Good luck OP. I fancied our postman a few years ago but was married so could only look!

Hoorahhh! Best. Update. Ever!!

Sophie89101 · 04/07/2019 11:25

Omg thank you all for the replies! x

So he replied this morning, saying we should go out for a drink this time, whenever I'm free! Shock and said he's free next Tuesday, his day off. I replied just now saying I'm free during school hours.

I also found out that he does boxing! He said he'd usually be free Sunday but he's got training. I couldn't believe it! He's so sweet and chilled out, I'd have never imagined! I'd noticed his eye seemed a tad swollen so that makes sense now!

Aaahhh! I'm so nervous! It's starting to sink in all this now Blush
