Would you think this man was weird or wonderful?

My lovely friend is 27 and a sweet, funny man. He is also single. We both really like guinea pigs (!) and he is planning to get two gorgeous piggy babies. He is worried that any potential girlfriend would see him as a bit of a weirdo keeping guinea pigs, whereas I think it would only endear him more to a woman? He asked if I could find out what people might think, so here I am! Thank you in advance!

Pet lovers tend to be warmer people, less selfish and better parents.

It would probably endear me more towards him, any choice of pet would. I'd find a Guinea pig or hamster etc quite nice as it would be unexpected for a man to choose that type of pet. It wouldn't put me off at all, quite the opposite

If I was single now I couldnt be date anyone who didnt love animals....any type of animal really.
he wouldnt have to have any pets but I have dogs and if he didnt like dogs in particular that would be a deal breaker for me....

I don't trust people who don't like animals. DH is a vet, and yep loves guinea pigs, though admittedly they were bought for our kids he is always cuddling them.

I have guineas, and an on a couple of FB guinea pig groups. I think it's lovely when the men come out of the woodwork and show love for their wee ones. I think it's because they are seen as being children's pets and I think it takes a bloke who's confident in their masculinity to show affection for them. Plus they're great little creatures and really, what's not to love?

I'd definitely be interested in your friend if I were single, put it that way!
