Just curious really

I met my dh when I started a new job and he was on the same team as me, he trained me then got moved to another floor and team for a few months.

Then he came back to our floor with the same team and he sat opposite me as the desks were facing each other, over the course of a year we got to know each other through general chatting and I asked him out over the desks Smile he said yes and we went on a date the next day and we been together ever since, November will be 4 years together

A mutual friend set us up. Only been together 10 months, but he is bloody wonderful and i wouldnt change him for the world.

Alysanne · 09/06/2019 09:41

He was part of a friends group who added me on Facebook. I'd seen him at nights out before but we didn't really talk as he was pretty shy. After I went through a break up and what was a rather controlling relationship I posted some photos of art up online that I was finally free to buy.

He started messaging me and talking about his love for Giger and one thing led to another. Four years down the line we have a mental rescue dog and looking to buy our first home Grin

The other guy...Still lives with his mum

misslomi · 09/06/2019 16:21

We met at the pub, I'd just split up with my arsehole ex and DP was very drunk and very nice to me.

We took it very slow at first but now 3 years down the line we've got our own house and are very happy.

redexpat · 09/06/2019 17:09

At a girl guide center in India. He is a scout leader.

AshQ · 09/06/2019 17:12

Nightclub. I said hi to him in the smoking area and we started talking then exchanged numbers.

Babyduck2 · 09/06/2019 17:14

At a pub, I was out with my friends, he was out with his, We swapped numbers and I met him later at a club, we both got very drunk and I went home with him.
Thought it was going to be a one night stand but we are together 4 years later, have a son together and getting married in October.
I tend to miss the 'one night stand' part out when people ask me though Grin

On a model village enthusiast forum Blush

Pipandmum · 09/06/2019 17:15

Dating agency (not online). He was my 13th meet I was his first.

BitOfFun · 09/06/2019 17:19

At an art exhibition. A mutual friend introduced us, suggesting that DH (artist) might want to paint me (life model). We spoke in a kind of stilted way, until I went to make my escape for a cigarette outside, and he sighed with relief and joined me. We talked properly then, and relaxed. We fell in love that night, and have been together ever since, for 14 years.

CantspellWontspell · 09/06/2019 17:20

At work. We were both in the middle of messy break ups so we’re friends for about 8 months and then one day he asked me to go to the cinema after work. Married nearly 14 years.

Moonkin123 · 09/06/2019 17:27

Dh was my boss, very outing to anyone who knows us but we met, moved in together the week after, moved 300 miles together the week after that and just celebrated 14 years together.

Still just as crazy about him, more so since we became parents.

MissConductUS · 09/06/2019 17:31

On match.com in the late 1990's. It was so new that it was free but had no pictures, which was okay as no one had digital photos then. I asked him out messaged him with a question and we're married over 20 years now.

We never would have met otherwise as he lived too far away, but it was doable until we moved in together.

BitOfFun · 09/06/2019 18:28

MissConduct, isn't it amazing to think that by a quirk of fate you were alive at the exact point in history where that became possible? Crazy to think it might never have happened otherwise.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/06/2019 19:03

Went for a language course to another country met a young man on my first day in class, brought him home to my parents 4 weeks later - 33 years ago this august.

louise5754 · 09/06/2019 19:09

We met on a blind date. I really wish I'd met someone at work who I fancied and asked out. We were kind of put together.

ffs74 · 09/06/2019 19:12

He was my ex dhs friend Grin
Some people weren't impressed, despite the fact that ex gave us his blessing and he was in a new relationship himself. Some people just couldn't help themselves, the gossip was shit but thankfully brief.
10 years on I don't think many people even remember how we got together and we're now married!

Frownette · 09/06/2019 19:16

@RantyAnty Flowers

Got talking in a park sitting in the sunshine

Elderflower14 · 09/06/2019 19:22

I met my late DH in a pub. He was 35 years older than me and a friend of my Dad's... I looked at him and immediately knew I would marry him... We got married 16 months later. We had two boys. I lost him in 2001. My DP and I were friends before we got together. He lost his wife who I knew too. We got together a year later. Two months later he was diagnosed with cancer and I lost him 15 months later... 😔 😔 😔

Myheartbelongsto · 09/06/2019 19:22

He was my neighbour, our boys played together and we are getting married 5 years on.

My mum used to tell me I would never meet anyone as never left the house and he turned up at my front door.

Best man in the world.

64632K · 09/06/2019 19:24

Housemate of a family friend. I thoughy he was a right idiot when I met him and advised friend to stay well clear. Oh how the universe works

MoobaaMoobaa · 09/06/2019 19:27

After I came out of a longish relationship, I took a job in a pub to have regular hours whilst I did temp work. He had started a week earlier as a second job to get him out after coming out a long relationship.

I fancied him straight away and we got on, but we were both not in the right place. then about 4 months of working with each other we went on a date. I stayed at his went home the day and went out again the following day. Then I never went home.

I officially move in with him after a week. It was over 4 years before we spent a night apart, and that was when I was in hospital after giving birth to DC1.

kidsmakesomuchwashing · 09/06/2019 19:32
