Am I being too cautious?

In a very casual "relationship" (it's not actually a relationship at all) but I've had little thoughts sneak into my head about what it would be like to be actually dating. They are quite fleeting but I worry about feeling less casual. We want different things so casual is what works. So .... enjoy the fun and then call it a day when one of us moves on? Or finish before falling for him? Even though I might not fall for him. I'm being rather fatalistic about this fun! Blush

If you’re going to be in a FWB relationship with someone you really need to be able to handle the lack of commitment and enjoy it for what it is. If one of you wants more out of the relationship and is going to become attached then it might be better to leave things alone at this stage. Of course it might be worth laying your cards on the table in case he’s having similar thoughts.

I think he is much more at ease in general.
A proper relationship doesn't appeal to me. Practically it doesn't work for either of us but i wonder if FWB (which I suppose is what it is) is easier with someone you like less. I need to switch my thoughts off and just enjoy it.

It would certainly be difficult for me to keep my feelings in check but I would recklessly go ahead anyway - especially if he was fun company and good in bed. Perhaps the answer is a second love interest - throw caution to the wind. You only pass through this way once

Can you tell I don't often throw caution to the wind?!
Although I'm feeling the fun again this morning.

Thanks for replying.
