I'm recently separated after a long-term relationship, 2 kids. Very amicable, just grew apart (short version).

Over the last year I've struck up an unlikely friendship with someone who comes into my home regularly. He is doing a job for me and so there is obviously a power imbalance here. I'm under no illusions that I am a client and this may be skewing his behaviour and my perception .

We get on like a house on fire. We share loads of interests and he laughs at my crap jokes. He made me a Spotify playlist last week which made me come over all funny.

Im still not sure its not just my fervid and overactive imagination.

WtF do I do to flush him out for sure?!?! I don't want to make a tit of myself.

Hope he's not a thatcher if they get on like a house on fire. Xmas Wink

moredoll · 25/12/2018 01:05

Lots of... exercise or something....

Cold showers, mate.

Why on earth did you make a date for two weeks away?

Wellthisisunexpected · 25/12/2018 08:44

@SirVixofVixHall I luffs your DH a bit.

It's not topiary or thatching or mosaic-making :) All I'm saying is it takes years to learn properly, and lots of dedicated practice Wink.

're date being in two weeks.... both tied up till then and hopefully also thereafter

TWO WEEKS?
We can’t wait 2 week’s OP! You’re going to have to organise something sooner GrinGrin

🤣🤣

Nigel never fear. He is coming round on Sunday to do his job. I've got plans for him after he has finished doing his thing... everyone is out of the house apart from my eldest who will be either asleep or plugged in.... we shall have christmas spirit and discuss our shared interest. He has no idea 😂.

He is from a more relgious family than me understatement (we are not UK, this is more common where i am and not the red card it sometimes is in the UK ;)) From what he has said I think he is not too devout but you can never be sure ...

Wellthisisunexpected · 25/12/2018 20:12

To clarify, the potential religion is not one that prohibits alcohol. Now that would probably be a dealbreaker....

Oh yes, he definitely likes you. Hope all goes well OP! Tradesmen don't make clients a playlist!

NicoAndTheNiners · 25/12/2018 20:58

This sounds very promising. Looking forward to the post date update.

Vitalogy · 26/12/2018 06:57

Creating a playlist and working on Sundays Xmas Smile

PouchofDouglas · 26/12/2018 07:40

If he’s Muslim the Sunday is a red herring

Vitalogy · 26/12/2018 08:08

Good point PouchofDouglas

Wellthisisunexpected · 26/12/2018 16:07

Eastern Orthodox Christian, not Muslim, c.f. above about gin 😉. Dad is a priest, but I have a feeling this ccasionally smoking drinkin chap might be the family heretic. He'll have to be because I am divorced.

showmeshoyu · 26/12/2018 20:01

Aha there we have it. He's the Coptic orthodox Lizard pope and he was performing an exorcism in your bathroom after a vindaloo was haunting your u bend... I'm right, aren't I? Do I get a prize?

ApplesAndPearsStairs · 26/12/2018 20:16

I'm thinking stained glass craftsman.

Vitalogy · 26/12/2018 20:35

Or a stonemason.

Wellthisisunexpected · 27/12/2018 08:42

Showmeshoyu you definitely win the prize Grin. I did once have my rooms kind of exorcised here, at Epiphany. It was quite weird.....

Oh ok then I'll spill. He's a musician, actually. I was trying to be deliberately vague :) we can go with ikon painter/ stained glass professional if it makes people happier!

LuckyLou7 · 27/12/2018 15:16

He's been tuning your piano? why does that sound like a filthy innuendo?

Chestnut23 · 27/12/2018 20:30

Is the playlist suggestive?

PenguinPandas · 27/12/2018 20:45

Wondering how many times a person can need their piano tuned 😎

Wellthisisunexpected · 27/12/2018 21:24

He's been neither tuning my piano nor pressing my pedals...I have a very strange job that necessitates getting musicians in regularly. I can't say any more without really making myself identifiable. I have RL friends on here who know the broad outline of my crush... someone from work, bit of a left field choice etc....

The playlist is not at all suggestive. Its just music he thinks I might like. It's very atmospheric, if anything great shagging music

Eastern othodox, how interesting, so not Christmas yet . I live near somewhere that still follows the Julian calendar.

Wellthisisunexpected · 27/12/2018 21:44

SirVixOfVixHall ooh. Geographically we may not be far apart :)

OP posts:
SirVixofVixHall · 28/12/2018 17:24

I am in the UK, so we aren’t near each other.
This is such a romantic thread though, I hope you have a lovely date.
