Me and my husband have been together a long time, we have two young children. Like all relationships we have our ups and downs, nothing major, petty rows now and again. I work nights and he works days so we feel like we're passing ships.
When I was at work one night he sent his usual "night babe love you lots see you in the morning" text. Exactly one minute later I get a message off a girl I've known for 15+ years with a picture of my husband saying "is this your fella" I replied saying yeah why? She said he has just messaged me on POF his profile says he's single, has children but wants more and is looking for a relationship. We've since sat down and spoke he said he was doubting our relationship because of the rows, he says he feels guilty, regrets it and will do what it takes to fix things. He says it was a blip, testing the water and it's been an eye opener and it needed to happen for him to realise how much he does love me.

What i guess I'm asking is what would you do in this situation?
Has anyone been through any thing like this and been able to get the trust back?
I'm so in love with him and it would destroy me and our children if this was over but I don't know if I can live worrying that this will happen again

Regardless of whether he would have met up with anyone, it sounds like he has literally no respect for you by putting his photo and details on the site and messaging other women.

Only you can decide what you are willing to put up with and how you are prepared to be treated.

Put him out of the house for 2 weeks and let him sweat.
Don’t be a doormat there needs to be consequences

labazs · 12/12/2018 08:50

he could have just joined the site still wrong but he took time and trouble for the profile details to be added to me trust has gone and so would he be

RyderWhiteSwan · 12/12/2018 08:57

He's a married man posturing as single, and put on a dating site he has children BUT WANTS MORE!!!! what a betrayal not only for you, but the women he's been trying to dupe. I really really couldn't forgive this.

Shoxfordian · 12/12/2018 09:01

If your friend hadn't seen him then he'd still be on there. Don't forgive him, call a solicitor

If you're really asking what I would have done then the answer is filed for divorce as soon as possible. He's not trustworthy

whymewhyme · 12/12/2018 09:16

For me it would be over regardless that I was in love with him or not, if he can set up a dateing app, put a pic up, state that he would like more children with another woman he really doesn't want to be with you, he's put himself out there to meet someone else! If your friend hadn't been strait with you I dread to think would would of happened, you need to buy that girl a drink because if it wasn't for her you would never have known and that is pretty scary thought. Leave him, you deserve so much more.

Kikidelight · 12/12/2018 09:25

I agree, he is not trustworthy. How can you ever trust him again after this? You deserve better. Surely it's better to be alone than with someone who shows such a lack of respect for you? This could have been going on for ages and still could be. You'll never know the truth. He could have told you a few facts to put you off the scent. It's shocking that he's gone out his way to create accounts, with the intent to meet women, whilst with you. Unforgivable and inexcusable!

Get a new SIM card from the pound shop and send him a message whilst your both at work/during working hours. Pretending he has given you the number via a website and see how he reacts. Better still get your friend to do it.

Sorry but you'll be back here in 6/12 months.
You've got a bad egg there.

I can't believe the shit some women put up with. Where is your self respect?
