Another "what does this mean" question

I made a cd of songs for a friend. Simply because he has no idea about the kind of music I like and has dire taste.

2 weeks later, said friend says "that cd had a kind of cassanova effect on me"

He won't clarify what he means by that.

Anyone good at man speak?

He got lucky playing it to some girl

Boco · 20/06/2007 10:54

Well cassanova was famous for shagging lots and lots of women - so he must think it makes him irresistable to women?

hockeypuck · 20/06/2007 10:56

yeah but why would my cd make him irresistible to women?

I was worried he meant, that I wooed him by putting music on there that made him think of me in a sexual way and I'm hopinh I'm wrong.

notthewabbit · 20/06/2007 10:57

well, that WAS my first thought...

Songbird · 20/06/2007 10:59

Whatever it means, it sounds impressive - what on earth was on there?

You could just ask him what he meant.

hockeypuck · 20/06/2007 11:03

Songbird -
well, it was mainly indie stuff like Kooks; Foos; Muse etc stuff he hadn't heard, but I guess there was some slower stuff at the end: Corinne Bailey Rae, Jem, REM, Coldplay and stuff like that.

Did you accidently give him the wrong cd? Maybe you gave him your Barry White Cd instead?

hockeypuck · 20/06/2007 11:14

BOCO LOL - of course, that was it, I'm such a big fan of the walrus!

Songbird · 20/06/2007 11:33

Well, I must say hockey, you've got me all worked up and that's just with the list of who's on there! God knows what I'd be like if I heard the music .

Joking aside, what a peculiar thing to say! Have you had any other 'vibes' from him IYSWIM?

theSelfishMan · 20/06/2007 12:09

my translation is much like nottheabbits first comment - it turned him into a "hunka-hunka burning lurve" and got lucky.

hockeypuck · 20/06/2007 16:11

yes songbird, he's always been really jokey and flirty, but suddenly he's a bit more attentive and thoughtful towards me. Surprising really as he's a bit of a tw*t normally.

Guess he found some depth of meaning in the songs or something maybe.

Apparently he's making me a cd to give me at work tonight - will be interested in what is on there. He has attrocious Mariah Carey-like taste in music.

He knows I'm married and definitely not interested in an affair or anything. He is also married so we'll see what happens with his cd.
