Are fingernails disgusting?

I would like to know if it's me or my dh who is freaky.
If you found a bit of fingernail that had broken off on the floor, what would your reaction be?

Eat it?

No I'd probably just pick it up and put it in the bin.

Fingernails freak me out, I'll pick up a stray one of mine or DH's but I wouldn't like it.

I was on the bus once and a woman started cutting her nails - I had to get off the bus.

Yuck at woman on the bus, not the place for it. But generally fingernails don't bother me much. Would just put it in the bin.

An odd stray fingernail cutting wouldn't bother me -I would pop it in the bin.

A pile of toe nail cuttings OTH....yuk!

He found one of my fingernails on the floor - had broken one earlier - and made an almighty fuss shouting "gross, that's disgusting, I can't believe you would just leave your fingernail on the floor.. "

I said, what's the big deal it's a fingernail..

I can understand being a bit annoyed if someone deliberately cut their nails and left them on the floor, but I didn't even know it was there.

He is rather anal about all things hygene related, drives me crazy.
