Can you name anyone who's survived extreme early years deprivation and successfully come out the other side mentally?

I'm looking for role models to study. I'm trying to find as many people as possible who I could research to see how they managed to overcome severe adversity & it's mental impact. I have an extreme life-story myself and I'm finding it difficult to find people who've been through similar but totally managed to overcome the impact and lead a fulfilling life.

There are numerous paperbacks out there written by people who have overcome extreme abuse and cruelty for years. Not hard to find them, they are in every bookshop and charity shop.

Authors would still be affected by their histories in their everyday lives, that would never go...but most successful outcomes I read about have managed to find a loving partner, have a close relationship and have made a family so are supported. Support is vital and needs to be constant.
