I discussed my WH's affair six months ago. I stayed for the DC and he assured me he ended it with the other woman on D-day. Now I have discovered that he paid her off a six figure sum. I can't trust him. Is leaving the only option?

Maybe he has stashed the money to hide it in case of divorce. I know of somebody who took a huge loan out against their house in this way, then disappeared to start a luxurious new life with the OW

Is he famous or very wealthy?

Could it be something damaging like an under-age affair? Children?

Or a gay relationship if he is for eg a politician speaking out against gay marriage etc.

I can't imagine what else would be worth so much money.

OP. Definitely get a good solicitor ASAP, I would also wonder if he's squirrelling money so get copies of as many bank statements etc as you can.
