I have never been with a man who moans more than me but my Partner of 7 months does and it is annoying me..
he moans like you would expect a woman to moan
it is so off putting I hate it. Should I bring it up? does your partner moan a lot?

like a terrier worrying a rat bloody funny Grin

annandale · 01/04/2018 06:55

Difficult. I loathe dead silence during sex, and that's usually what I got in the past. It made it impossible to tell if the person was silently suffering or silently enjoying it. I've also in the very distant past had criticism of vocally enjoying myself too much (not a screamer, honest). But it's tricky if it's disturbing the kids or putting you off. If there's some practical reason why he needs to keep it down, talk about that. Otherwise, could you try to get into it? This is his sexual self - try to embrace it? Put music on to compete? Play a game of how long he can keep quiet whatever you do to him?

TheSassyAssassin · 01/04/2018 07:01

Jeez! If someone attempted to motorboat / terrier me, it wouldn't be how much noise they made they would need to worry about, it would be my Venus fly-trap thighs! Hmm

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 01/04/2018 07:07

Enjoy it! I would be worried if my partner didn't moan now and again in bed.

mindboggled88 · 01/04/2018 11:58

If you're compatible in other ways I'd try and work on letting it go.

Personally I'd find it super hot! But I can see how it would be annoying if you're not into it. Take it as a compliment ;) he's obviously enjoying himself a lot!

Essexmummy88 · 01/04/2018 16:42

I would like this. My partner is silent and I find it very odd.

funnylittlefloozie · 01/04/2018 17:06

My partner is the silent type as well.. i know he's enjoying it, but he doesnt make a noise until the very last moments. I used to find it a bit odd, but its just how he is, and it doesnt make me love him any less. I make enough noise for both of us, anyway.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 01/04/2018 17:16

I think if you've got used to being quiet due to living in a shared house, with your parents or have children and thin walls it becomes a habit..
I mean it's not essential to make lots of noise.

If you find the noise off putting could you put some music on to drown it out? eg Barry White.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 01/04/2018 17:21

I think you consider what might happen if you tell him; then make your call. It's possible that he's putting it on for you, but after seven months, you'd think that phase would have passed. So it's more likely to be that he's naturally loud; and if he can't control that, you risk making sex really awkward for you both.

Is it something you might get used to?

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 01/04/2018 17:26

I think you can control it though Anchor? He's not a wild animal.
Just tell him to keep it down because the neighbours complained or something!
Or maybe encourage him to talk dirty? Confused At least then he'd be talking rather than all that moaning and groaning.

cloudchasing · 01/04/2018 19:14

Yeah but ILostIt that can be really awful if it's not something you're both used to. DP tries it sometimes but it's cringey...

It's so difficult talking about sex, if it seems critical in any way, you risk upsetting them and you can't take it back once it's out there!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 01/04/2018 19:17

True Chasing I guess there might be an art to getting that right? I want to put Little Dave in your bush isn't going to cut it.

TheSassyAssassin · 01/04/2018 19:20

Depends on who Dave is though ILostIt and whether he's a dab hand at topiary or not? I mean a peacock bush in my garden? Might be quite nice! Easter Grin

cloudchasing · 01/04/2018 19:22

'I want to put little Dave in your bush' GrinGrin

cloudchasing · 01/04/2018 19:31

Or to quote the delightful Alan Partridge -

“I’m gonna hump ya. Like Deputy Dog… would hump ya.”

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 01/04/2018 19:38

Aha! Or Alan's other line- Get in, back of the net! Kiss my face.

The scene where his date smothers his chest in chocolate mousse. Grin Alan switches the light on and says "Sandra I feel violated. This is a travel tavern, they're going to think I soiled myself"

GrooovyLass · 01/04/2018 19:46

I love DP moaning during sex! It really turns me on to know I'm turning him on. He encourages noise from me for the same reason 😊

cloudchasing · 01/04/2018 19:53

Alan: Do you like me doing that? Shall I do it more quickly or shall I maintain the same speed.
Jill: That’s fine.
Alan: Right, shall I move onto the other one?

Alan: Oh, that’s lovely. That’s first class. That is superb! Oh, there you go it’s all happening. Jill, I’m afraid I have no sheaths.
Jill: No what?
Alan: Sheaths. Err, prophylactics. You know, ‘Rubber Johnnies’. Actually, being your age and everything there’s probably no need for them. I’m talking about the menopau… oooh Jill you know your onions!

Aaaah. One of the most revolting sex scenes ever. I'll stop now Grin

wondering79 · 01/04/2018 19:57

I love a noisy man during sex, wouldn't bother me at all. I used to go out with a guy who was silent, didn't utter a sound when we dtd even when he climaxed. That was a lot more off putting for me.

BettyBaggins · 01/04/2018 19:59

Had an ex who grunted. Which made me laugh. It wasnt going to work.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 01/04/2018 20:00

Jill that was her name!
"Do you mind me talking Jill? It helps keep the wolf from the door so to speak. What are your views on the pedestrianisation of Norwich city ceeeennnnntre?" "OOOh there you go, Jill it's happening now" Grin

DearMrDilkington · 01/04/2018 20:02

dh asked once if I was awake so I try to mumble a bit here and there.

Oh God GrinGrin.

cloudchasing · 01/04/2018 20:08

ILostIt it's making me want to watch them all again. Through my fingers.

Oddcat · 01/04/2018 20:09

Perhaps he could pair up with my neighbour , I mean it's great to enjoy sex but howling like fucking Lassie so I can hear loud and clear is a bit ott .Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 01/04/2018 20:19

Howling like fucking Lassie Grin

Alan climbs into bed "I must say Jill I'm tremendously excited about all this"
"Let battle commence!"
