Do your parents (perhaps unintentionally) try to cause rifts between you and a sibling?

In planning our holiday to the UK both sets of parents have come crashing in on things which actually we could have sorted out perfectly okay with our siblings directly.

Both dh and I are the eldest, so we don't think this is helping either.

Luckily neither set of parents has voiced on an opinion on ds being an only child - but I feel that this has to be a factor in our decision.
