Brave Babes Battle Bus: Next Stop Fabulous February

Hi, I'm SweetLathyrus, Sweet for short, and I've been on and off Gerald the Brave Babes Battle Bus since 2014. Over the years, lots of us have maintained the thread, most of all the lovely Mouse, who has been here since the early days, and still scurries onboard when she can.

The bus is a place of support, safety and occasional silliness for those of us struggling with our relationship with alcohol. Some of us are sober, some are trying to be, some are moderating and aren't ready to give up alcohol just yet.

So whatever your reason for questioning the whys and WTFs of your drinking, hop on board, make yourselves comfortable and join in. Driers and Triers, all welcome.

Hola - rothbury yes I will be back with you on 14 February. I am very much enjoying this thread and that will be the start of my next reset from then to 10 March.

At that point I will be almost one month off the 5 year mark of stopping drinking wine - one of the absolute best decisions of my entire life :). My wine-versary is 19 April. x

And well done on the lossage - I am mid-period so in two minds about stepping on scales tomorrow morning. I don't want to put myself on a downer if the number does not start with 10...equally I am looking much more svelte so I kind of want to know!

Evening everyone, I need to catch up but just checking in. I feel a wobble coming on so away to run a bath and get PJ’s on. No rhyme or reason for this just boredom I think x

wrongway you hit the nail on the head there with my drinking and dh. he is drinking beer now, i am desperately trying not to.

Checking in - I am sipping a can of Tesco diet lemon and lime poured into a naice glass. It's quite tasty and cold and is almost like drinking wine or G&T.

I am still struggling to get up and going in the mornings because my sleep isn't great. Once I am out and about though I feel OK. I am going to bed quite early so will just have to persevere. I guess it's quite normal for this time of year but I usually jump out of bed at 6.15 no problem ( unless really hungover of course)

twat I will miss you but hope you have an absolutely brilliant time. I would be bloody delighted to see a 10. I would be fairly pleased with an 11 at the moment, although my ideal weight is about ten and a half stone for my 5ft 5in height and gigantic norkage.

Razor so sorry for what you are going through, do be kind to yourself.

2nd night in a row I didn't pick up a bottle of wine on my way home .... and theres no Gin anyway so I've found my lever ..... don't flippin buy it!

Busy, busy time. I would L.O.V.E. a glass of wine, but I know I couldn't keep up this level of work, and it wouldn't be just one . Anyway, still working so that I can take time off tomorrow to get my hair cut.

well done to all who are keeping at it and feeling better/thinner for it.
The scales say I haven't lost anything but I can see quite clearly that I have.
Pay day tomorrow thank God so can buy some nice soft drinks. am skint.
Day 24 done..the end is almost in sight. (don't plan to abstain forever so looking forward to a drink to celebrate DD's engagement.)

Hello tink glad to see you. Well done. I also find if I have no booze in the house then I am OK. My aim is just to stop drinking at home rather than to stop completely. I only go out 2/3 times a month so that would be a lot less drinking than last years drinking 365 days of the year

My weight loose has completely stopped. So 80 days af and 4 bloody lb!!!!!

Don't see how that makes sense!!!

Evening all, it's been a while. It feels like ages since I've posted but think it's only been 3 days if that! Day 24 for me today. I have a headache. Just come up to bed. Didn't have the patience for telly tonight.

Tink I'm also only safe if the alcohol isn't bought in the first place. I can only moderate with lager/cider if I buy what I'm allowed to drink on the day. Well done on day 2.

Ma commiserations on your dead mouse. I have a full blown infestation of the fuckers. I've invested in 4 different types of humane traps they ignore, a mass of snaptraps they eat the bait from but don't set off and a load of poison that I hate using (seems so unethical) but seems to work...

Sorry, my head is a bit full up to name check or be at all useful at the moment. I have a deadline looming (and one passed ), was working until 10 last night (albeit with a break for short dog walk and to take DS to his maths tutor), and started again this morning at 5. I could not keep up this pace if I was drinking, and even sober, its not sustainable without artificial stimulants, and I ain't going there.

Is EOTW any better, End ? Although that says ‘end of the week’ to me and therefore wine. So maybe not.

Thanks to whoever recommended Heineken alcohol free beer. It is hitting the spot after a day "helping" dh fix the kitchen floor. he fancies himself as Nick Knowles but wouldn't get a job with Bob the Builder.
