So my DH gave me a tablet for Xmas. As it is the same brand as his work phone ut has synched with it. Not had a chance to play with it yet but got it out today to see a work email pop up for him. The subject is ' HI' then it says 'My Beloved, Did you see my previous email I sent it 2 days back?' No sign off or anything. I was v shocked as this is totally out of the blue and he has only been at this company 2 months. At first I assumed it was spam. I screen shot it, forwarded it to my email ad and deleted it from all folders. I dont know if this was stupid but i replied to say Sorry I deleted ur in haste pls resend. Then I saw her email address does look like a legit one from this company. Could it still be spam/ a joke? I cant find her on fb or LinkedIn. Only as a dating coach in London!! What should I do?!

Sounds like spam. Check the actual sent address not the sent name iyswim, they can set the sender/reply name up to look legit.

My company had a load of convincing looking spam emails that appeared to come from colleagues... So it's not unheard of

Sounds like spam to me. I get emails like this all the time on my work email. They look like they're from 'John Smith' for e.g., but when I hover over the name, the email address is usually nothing like that.

"It does actually look like a legit email.address ie [email protected]"

I've just looked through the spam folder on my work account. There are several messages that appear to come from legitimate corporate addresses but are clearly scams (mostly with "invoices" - i.e. viruses/Trojans - attached). It's easy to make an e-mail look like it came from someone else.

Ok.thanks Skiiltans. Yes it is his company address but good to know it is likely spam. I feel a lot better now thanks xx

Would hardly call it an affair. Seriously. Either its spam or an email from a very bossy person. Maybe it is in fact from his actual boss, so I wouldnt be caught dead replying to the emails. I mean who does that??? Serious violation of trust IMO. Anyways, point being: "my beloved, i sent an email days ago" sounds passive aggressive, like a bossy old lady.

My email is full of those!! Honestly, it’s one of those spam emails. I could forward you ten from my junk mail box right now that start the same way!
