this one! Not done it for a while now but has started saying this when the bill arrives at a restaurant. Not a problem, we have joint account and he often doesn't take his wallet out but it's the fact that when the waiter comes with the bill dh points to me and says this one!! I hate it, have told him so yet tonight he has done it, makes me feel like, yep tonight it's this one as opposed to the other one the other night iyswim. Soz, just rambling.
He is texting me I really love you, I am ignoring as he is currently sitting outside a restaurant five minutes away from home waiting for his daughter to finish waitressing although he has no idea what time she finishes. SOOOOOOO, tonight I am 'this one', left alone at home and he would rather wait outside an italian rather than wait for a text to say i'm finished. I'M FINISHED!!!!!

Ey?

escape · 13/04/2007 22:29

WTF?

Twiglett · 13/04/2007 22:29

he points at her and calls her "This One" when the waiter brings over the bill

as in not this customer (ie me) .. this one (ie her)

he's just got a slightly tosserish turn of phrase

I wouldn't worry too much

Carmenere · 13/04/2007 22:29

That is quite random. You should embrace it and change your posting name to 'thisone'

lulumama · 13/04/2007 22:30

he referred to you as 'this one'

ie when the bill came, he poitns to you and says to the waiter, 'this one' will pay..
is that what you mean

Twiglett · 13/04/2007 22:30

he sounds kind of Northern .. its a northern turn of phrase (I think)

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 13/04/2007 22:30

I had to read it three times but from what I understand when going out for a meal and her dh hasn't got his wallet he points to op and says 'this one' implying this one is paying.

saltire · 13/04/2007 22:30

Whoosh - that went over my head

lulumama · 13/04/2007 22:30

Nope...read that three times and still don't have a clue.

Twiglett · 13/04/2007 22:31

my DH calls me a 'northern monkey' sometimes

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 13/04/2007 22:31

Or next time makes sure he has his wallet and don't take yours and say 'this one' and point at him.

Whoooosh · 13/04/2007 22:32

I am sure it is irritating but it really could be so much worse.....

LedodgyCheapEasterEggsAreASin · 13/04/2007 22:34

Also I would assume he was saying 'this one' as in not him, not that he could be referring to other women on other nights! I'm thinking about this too much i need a drink.
