Oh dear - I just posted the 1000 thread. Hope we all find this one.

Selena hugs back.
I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

Great cake cake, she is a lucky girl!

Fab kitchen Selena, love the red glass behind the cooker.

Good that dd1's isn't too bad book, but still a pain for her.

Another busy day for most of you, I had a lazy one Smile

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 17/11/2017 21:35

Thanks all. Shattered. Only just got both children to sleep! Tomorrow will be interesting!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 18/11/2017 16:13

Hello all

We had a mostly good day. DS was stroppy in places, but considering his short sleep, he was good.

Party went well, lots of ooooh and aaaahs over the cake and an excellent young boy as party host slipped him a tenner

Hope that your visit to your auntie went well Willow and teenagers do keep you on your toes don't they? hope DS1 enjoyed it!

Selena the kitchen is lovely! Hope you find a place for all your stuff.

How is DD's foot book action plan in place for the week ahead?

Hope you had another lazy day Squirrel - sounds like you need it. How is Charlie doing? Any more pictures of him???

horse are you really well enough to go back to work on Monday? Seems too quick!

Chasingsquirrels · 18/11/2017 19:09

Glad it all went well cake, especially with the effort you've put in.
We haven't got Charlie yet, collect in two weeks. Ds2 is working up to fever pitch.

Hope you had a good day visiting your aunt willow.

Any more news on dd book?

Been to Nowich for the day with my mum - she organised a WI coach. Didn't get much but a few bits and nice to spend the day with her.

Posted some more things on local Facebook selling page and have people picking things up tomorrow.

Everyone tells me how lovely Norwich is chasing. I must try and get there for a weekend.

Cake, I've been off for a month now, think I'll be fine, just need to make sure I don't overdo things.

We've had takeaway & watched SCD this evening Smile

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 18/11/2017 20:23

Evening.
Had a lovely day thanks. Went out for lunch and kids twisted my arm to get humongous deserts to take back.
Went to Dobies but stayed out the putside garden bit so only bought 2 candy canes for kids!!! Was very tempted by the lindor advent callender though😀 just wandered around looking at all the lovely things.
Chatted about everything and looked at all the xmas cards she has made so far, she is very crafty you name it she has done it at her craft group😀

Glad party went well Cake definatekt deserved all the oos and ahhs..

Sounds like a nice day out Squirrels never been there.

bookbook · 18/11/2017 21:27

Just a quick dip in
Cake good to hear the day went mostly okay - thats a big plus
Willow - that sounds lovely - my sort of day!
Chasing - I haven't been to Norwich for years, but it was lovely then , what a treat :)
Horse - I suspect you will be more tired than you imagine when you go back - recuperating takes a lot out of you
Been at DD2's today, helping insulate the loft space . (To be fair , DH has done nearly all of the work, along with DD's partner- I have just been frittering around getting in the way , and running for stuff :) )
Bath , chocolate and SCD tonight. Thanks for checking on DD1 - its as good as can be expected. Just in the process of sorting next week, but at the moment , we are doing the pick up on Monday, son in law is trying to arrange work schedules for dropping off as much as possible.
Sleep well all

Good day, more or less, for most from the sound of things? I love Norwich, usually visited on our Suffolk trips despite the vagaries of the A.143.

Friend and I braved the horrors of the M6 on a Friday and drove to Ikea where I got the Poang rocker frame, already having the cushion thing from a previous Poang chair (can't remember who I gave that too, idiot that I am!). Thankful we were driving north on return, as south side blocked for miles, although there's nothing new there, I'm just not usually near it.

DS's partner kindly put frame together today, I found the somewhat dusty cushion, threw on a fleece that has bright red in it - and lo, the perfect match for the space that was the dining area. Smile

Look after yourselves, all, we can only do our best.

Chasingsquirrels · 19/11/2017 07:51

That's a good point cake, the breeder did say she'd email pictures - I'll email her today, have to fire up my laptop as have a shiny new phone Smile and don't have her as a contact.

I went to uni in Norwich and then lived there for 4 years after, plus another few months after we came back from a stint overseas. Its strange to see how some things change yet others stay the same.

The last time I went was mid-April 2016, with John, I had a moment yesterday when the coach was driving through the city.
We'd given our wedding notices then a couple of days later he'd seen the GP and had a 2-week cancer referal.
We'd planned to go to Norwich at the weekend to look for a my dress for the wedding, I suggested we postpone it but he said life had to go on and better to do something.
The speed of the progression was so quick, a couple of weeks early he'd not been feeling quite right, that persisted hence the GP appointment, then when we went to Norwich he hadn't been able to eat breakfast so we went to a cafe when we got there and he had eggs on toast - but couldn't manage to swallow the crusts of the toast. By the time he was diagnosed early-May he was basically just on liquids.

John found my dress, we were browsing in John Lewis and he said "what about this one?". I loved it, which was a surprise because we didn't share the same taste in clothes!

(((hugs))) Squirrels sounds like some good and painful memories mixed together.

Good day Willow, has DS1 reverted back to normal yet?

Hope you have a quieter day today book

We are not too far from 2 Ikeas, the children love going round and trying chairs, opening drawers etc Grin

A much better night's sleep and sun out, so going to get showered and get everyone into the fresh air.

bookbook · 19/11/2017 09:18

Morning all

  • cold here, still wrapped in cosy dressing gown . Temp -3º when I got up this morning . I have washing to hang out before I go to the allotment ...... Chasing - truly bitter sweet visit it sounds like (hugs) Selena - those little touches sound lovely, and pull everything together :) Willow - how did you resist at Dobies Shock Grin Cake we have a trek to get to Ikea, and DH hates it, but there i so much to look around , I love it! Have a good day all
Willow2017 · 19/11/2017 20:56

Evening
I am shattered place went like a fair all day but even the during the short quieter time we were set to cleaning anything that didnt move!

Also discovered 'the dark side' and the 2 facedness of some staff. Oh well now i know and was a bit upset by what i heard (but didnt show it) but cant be bothered with it all will just get on with the job. They keep changing the goalposts one person tells me one thing and then i get told its wrong. Seemed like boss making a lot of digs about things but aimimg them in my direction today yet i havent even been there for 4 days! Will just have to grow a thicker skin

Hope you all had a good day you must all be busy.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 19/11/2017 21:32

Evening.

Mostly good but ever so busy day. Look forward to dropping the darlings at school...but long to do list in town tomorrow too.

Willow, such a pity. I really don't like working with a bunch of women for that very reason. I've always found men much easier to get along with in the workplace anyway Wink

Hope you had a good day book. Did the washing freeze stiff on the line?!? Was cold here too.

Good luck for back to work horse and let us know the gossip surrounding boss.

SelenaValentina · 19/11/2017 21:42

Oh Willow, one of the problems of working with women, sadly. Practise some replies, maybe like 'Oh that's odd, last time I was told ....' 'Oh has that changed again then, I was told .....' 'I wasn't here then, so I'm not sure what went on'. Then look surprised/confused. Grin

I went to a local Christmas market this morning but it was so packed I gave up. I've sort of started on Christmas cards, trying to pre-empt the people on DH's list who may not know. Didn't get very far but will take with me tomorrow and try and do some after spinning and before hospital shift rather than coming home.

I'm just watching the Ken Dodd thing, really makes me laugh, especially in his khaki shorts.

Chasingsquirrels · 19/11/2017 21:51

Spent part of the day sorting more stuff and listing on Facebook (load of craft stuff, the the plastic drawers I'd been storing them in Smile), plus had some people collecting other stuff and also went and collected a dog crate.

Was messaging my mum who said "What's the betting ds2 (11yo) will be straight in there when he gets him?".
Hadn't crossed my mind, but needless to say he was!

Sounds a bit crap Willow, agree with Selena on stock replies.

Nice evening at my parents, they are off to Tenerife shortly and dad asked if we'd invited ourselves anywhere for next Sunday evening. Lol. I've got the boys all day Sunday so we might go out for lunch somewbere after ds2's hockey practice.

Going to chase the boys off the bed shortly and get an earlish night.

Willow2017 · 19/11/2017 22:27

Thanks everyone. Trouble is there are so many things to remember i dont remember who told me what (and boss always asks!) I am going to start writing it down!

Everyone bern very busy it seems. Shame about the Xmas market we go to the edinburgh one and it's always busy but bearable.

Must get sorted on this facebook malarkey and see if i can sell stuff.
Need to do tax credits as asked f9r new form then got email to say i have to update old one! So maybe tuesday will get on fb after shopping. Got a list of things to do that i never seem to get through 😀

bookbook · 19/11/2017 23:01

Evening all
the day has sped past. - Washing nearly dried Cake !
Lovely digging in the quiet at the allotment, lots of bits done, and then head down for some serious scarf making - parcel needs to be posted by Wednesday for the appeal that was sent out, so just trying to do as much as I can until then , and then I can slow down a bit :)
Willow - can you just go to your boss, and say - ' I seem to be getting different instructions/mixed messages on how to do things, can you clear this up for me, so I know what I am supposed to do.
Selena I like the idea of Christmas markets, but its such a squeeze normally, that I have given up going to them.
Chasing - sounds like a good , productive day :)
hope it goes well tomorrow back at work Horse
Sleep well all

Good luck today Horse hope its an easy day for you.

Pottering around tidying up and washing before work.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 20/11/2017 13:12

A notebook sounds good Willow that will keep them on their toes and stop them being silly!

Busy morning here. DS slept in till 7!!!! so rushed round to get done. Just sitting down with some lunch and a mooch on here while it's nap/quiet time.

Hope you're all OK and that your first day back is OK horse

Selena I've just posted some cards to my great aunties - the only ones apart from my parents that I really bother with. A bit of a generational thing I guess. Though the children will probably write 100s each if I let them!

Willow2017 · 20/11/2017 15:40

Another weird day. Pretty constant but some gaps lots of passive aggressive cleaning from boss. Nothing was done properly apparently last pm but at least i could catagorically say it wasnt me for most of it. And a few renarks which could be seen as passing observations but they weren't iyswim.
Otherwise ok but confidence is rocked tbh. Spent time looking for things to do to keep out the way till they left. What an atmosphere to create. Another staff member told me they do this now and again not to take it personally.

At least they arent on tomorrow will get on with things without looking over my shoulder. And tbh i dont think cleaning round customers queueing/ eating is very nice anyway.
Rant over. Waiting for kids coming out.

Cake a long lie!!!

Very cold and wet first thing, did see the sun for a while but its gone again. Left the heating on low in living room so gps didnt freeze😀😀

Chasingsquirrels · 20/11/2017 20:00

Hopefully tomorrow will be better Willow x

Busy day at work, felt a bit light headed this afternoon - think I'm coming down with a bit of something, hope it isn't much.
Will just sit & veg on the sofa this evening and get an early night.
