I feel a bit annoyed at my DP, not massively because I'm used to him now but I wondered what everyone else thought.
Basically he has an obsession with mobile phones, he's on a contract and gets a new phone (or upgrade as they call it) every year, sometimes more often.
The last phone he got was a nice, top of the range phone and it's still classed as a top of the range now 8 months later.
Anyway we have a holiday booked for later this year, we agreed to pay £200 each per month on it so that by this month it should've been paid off...each of us owe one more payment on it.
Last weekend he told me he couldn't afford to make the payment this month but promised he would make it next month...it worried me a bit because I know what he's like and something at the back of my mind has been expecting this holiday to go tits up.
Anyway I agreed....
Then on saturday he told me he really wanted a new phone and wanted to go into vodafone to see about a free upgrade. They told him it wouldnt be free as he hasnt had the other one long enough yet so he asked how much it would be, she quoted him £170. At first he said "no way, doesnt matter". An hour or so later however he was umming and arring about it, saying how much he really wanted it, suggested he'd love to go and buy it but was scared of my reaction...anyway he put off buying it until he got back to his own house. The next day he went into another phone shop and asked again, threatened to terminate his contract etc etc and they offered him the phone for £70 , if he waited a few more months he'd get it for nothing. So, he bought it.
Now, am I right to be annoyed at his behaviour? he can't afford to make his payment on the holiday but he can afford to buy himself yet another mobile phone? or am I over-reacting?
