could you get them to babysit the los whilst you go out for a film/meal etc.

yes batters is right, large glass of wine always works a treat and just generally agree with everything they say "I couldn't agree more" "I was just thinking exactly the same the other day" "oh I know just what you mean" that sort of thing. You could give us an online report of how it's going, I recently did this when I had my mil round and she was driving me mad - it was hilarious to read back later.
