If you've found this page in your search of orgasm gels and orgasm lubes that have been recommended by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best orgasm gels useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ

That 'relationships' expert Tracey Cox has it on her web site and seems to rate it. Why don't you try it and give us a review?

NotQuiteCockney · 02/04/2007 07:50

Is this the warming or tingling lube? There has been discussion of these on here before - some found them nice, some couldn't feel a difference.

DimpledThighs · 02/04/2007 08:21

ooooh - replies - thank you thank you (somehow I was expecting you NQC!)

it is stimulating gel by mates called 'intensify' - the blurb on the back says:

'Mates Intensify Stimulating Gel provides a pleasurable sensation when massaged gently onto the clitoris, helping you achieve a more intense orgasm.'

So you can tell I bought it rather than saw it in boots!

I remember then being reviewed on here NQC - but my search drew a blank - what was the verdict?

(p.s. NQC with your literary and sex interest have you ever thought of writing female erotica? I think you wouyld be really good.)

I have debated doing that - it seems like an obvious thing to do, doesn't it?

Let us know how the stuff works, anyway. It sounds different from the ones mentioned on here before - they weren't gender specific. Why would this work on the clitoris but not the penis? Strange.

DimpledThighs · 02/04/2007 08:48

marketing ploy more than anything else with the gel stuff - but figure anything that looks like I have thought about stuff and made an effort (e.g. purchase) is enough to make a change of mood.

My sister writes for black lace - if you are interested and want some contacts ever let me know!

NotQuiteCockney · 02/04/2007 08:57

Oooh, thanks, I will have a think.

I know what you mean, re: making effort. It shows you're thinking about it, and are interested. There's a whole 'how to enjoy sex like a bloke' thing I read once that suggests touching your clit every time you go to the loo etc etc. It sounds quite unpleasant, tbh, but there's a point in there, imo.

NotQuiteCockney · 03/04/2007 07:55

So where's our consumer report?

I think I would like contact details for your sister, if you don't mind. I'm not in the right place to do anything about this sort of thing right now, but I might be in a not-too-distant futyre ... you can email me on (my MN user name)@hotmail.co.uk. Thanks!

DimpledThighs · 03/04/2007 08:50

well as far as a consumer report goes we never got that far! As I said the idea of me making an effort went much further than any product ever could and it got long forgotten.

Will let you know if I break the seal on it!

You're not the only one who noticed it in the shops, DT.

My 6 yr old son picked up a tube of it in Sainsbury's yesterday and loudly asked, 'What's this, mum?'

'I don't know, put it back', came the reasoned reply

NotQuiteCockney · 03/04/2007 21:06

Thanks for the link, DT. Should I pretend to be that she uses a pseudonym?

DimpledThighs · 03/04/2007 21:48

nah - she wrote for a year before she told anyone in the family and she was about to have a baby and had a 'proper' job. But now she has her face in the daily express there is nowhere to hide really.

I am very proud of her and do all her proof reading - but skip the rudey bits!

if you want to persue stuff let me know and I will tell her and she can flag up stuff for you at the publishers.

this is different to the tingle/heat stuff, it comes in a bottle that looks like a lip gloss! have some but haven't tried it yet cos it says you must not use when pg

NotQuiteCockney · 03/04/2007 21:55

I mentioned to an ex, in an email, that I was mulling over the idea of writing porn, and he was alarmingly enthusiastic.

I will let you know if I am getting stuff underway. How did her face end up in the Daily Express?

NotQuiteCockney · 03/04/2007 21:56

Oh, and Ellie, I cannot imagine how a topical gel applied to the clitoris could ever cause problems for the baby. They really will put a warning label on anything, won't they.

EllieKthePA · 03/04/2007 21:58

i think it's supposed to intensify the orgasm, and as such could bring on labour in later stages i guess?

NotQuiteCockney · 03/04/2007 21:59

Oh god, if orgasms brought on labour in the later stages, then DS2 might possibly not have come out via the sunroof.

EllieKthePA · 03/04/2007 22:34

pmsl

oh well, single now anyway so i'll be saving it for after the birth

DimpledThighs · 04/04/2007 08:46

She ended up in the Daily Express as they did an article about women who make a living writing about sex. I think a lot of writers of erotic like to remain anon so she as had some media interest since then. She wrote her first book whilst working and pregnant and her second in the evenings when her daughter was little. She gets to do bits in magazines and the radio now so it is sort of taking off. She is very down to earth and is convinced that anyone who reads books, has ideas, has sex and puts in the time can write - I gave it a go but feels very much like my sisters area TBH.

why not try putting together a short story and if you are happy with it I can ask her to look at it and see if she would send it to the publishers.

That was my plan but the resulting effort when I read it back was so cliched and self concious that I never got that far - give it a go - you never know!

DimpledThighs · 04/04/2007 08:46

Ellie - i am sure it would work in the DIY sense!
