How much time do you SPEND WITH YOUR DP/DH on average???????????????

DP and I seem to spend less and less time together but he thinks I am imagining things. He thinks what we have is normal i.e less than an hour sitting together in a comfy chair some nights without kids and other nights not sitting together at all.

sounds normal to me! if you can manage to spend some day time without your kids when you are not tired and get away from the housework it can make you feel much better about things. my sister-i-l's kids have left home and she keeps telling us we MUST maintain our relationship, and hence is willing to take the kids for the odd weekend. hurrah! i think she's talking from slightly bitter experience...

TwinklemEGGan · 01/04/2007 00:16

Well he's on the settee watching a film and I'm at the desk on here. Same most nights.

ucm · 01/04/2007 00:25

I spend 8 hours with my DH per day, it is really important that you do this.

PurpleLostPrincess · 01/04/2007 00:31

It can vary but on the whole I'd say about 3 or 4 hours per evening plus a lot more time at the weekends when the kids to to their dads house. We are more than aware that this is lots of time though and it isn't always the case. We've always made the most of our time together but its even more precious to us now that I'm pg with our first baby. There won't be any more watching DVD's once baby arrives!!

Before I found MN?

2 hours per day

After?

half an hour

He is a MN widower, but he works weird hours and by the time he gets home the dds are asleep and I am engrossed

Stopped peeling potatoes to say that the 8 hours was the time we sleep.

That darned tosser invited my (very infrequent) friends to dinner tomorrow. Hence I am peeling pots, as they are 4 adults really.

LaDiDaDi · 01/04/2007 01:30

Not as much as I'd like to. I usually work one evening per week and dp goes out two evenings, I might manage one evening so that doesn't leave much. I love our sleeppy bedtime chats though .

PregnantGrrrl · 01/04/2007 10:02

not enough. but DS is going to grandparents for the afternoon today. and what are we doing? cleaning, DIY...woo hoo! I might jump DP if i get the chance though.

Chocadora · 01/04/2007 10:18

PregGirl - I guess you are in the second trimester then!!

Judy1234 · 01/04/2007 10:52

I don't have one. Frees up a lot of time.

juicychops · 01/04/2007 11:03

about 12 hours per week. not long enough in my opinion

princesscc · 01/04/2007 11:16

About an hour per day during the week and maybe 3 hours sat & sun. We spend a lot of time on the phone though - it works for me.
