Can I thank everyone who gave advice on this thread. I m a few more weeks down the line and everything you said was bang on. The ups and downs, gut wrenching physical pain etc advice to talk, eat, see people. I'm feeling stronger , I'm over that worst stage and I know there's more pain to come and lots of heartache but it's duller than it was. Thank you for the support x

Hi Shocker, glad to hear you're doing a bit better. I am 8 months post separation (it wasn't because of cheating though it was abusive) what a PP said above is spot on, it comes and goes - I am down to having one or two down days every fortnight now more or less. The happiness in between is much nicer. Do you have children together?

Good to hear the down days pass. When you're in the eye of the storm as one pp put it you think there's no way out, but it does get easier x
