Well an update from my sister. She has no further contact with her ex. Which is fine, great etc. But she is 34 and today she informed me she went on a date with this guy and really like him. But I was like great until she said he is 68. I'm like WTF. I personally think it's a bit old

I remember telling my mother that dh to be was 11 years older. I think if he'd been 34 years older she would've passed out! She's an adult, certainly her choice who she dates but it's 1 date in. This may come to nothing.

Hilda i find older ppl fascinating to talk to. The ones who lived through all the social changes that happened in the 1960s and 1970s. They were actually there and lived it rather than sat watching it on the Yesterday channel.

Of course an older man without money has more to offer than liver spots and wrinkles.

To me once you get past 20 or so years gap you are hitting "old enough to be your parent" and that I consider not just big gap but a big chasm I won't jump.

Helena: I love talking to older people too but enjoying someone's conversation and enjoying sex with them are two very different things. While there may be a few people with oap fever the reality is most older people you see with much younger partners are wealthy. In some cases they may be so brilliantly smart/charasmatic they're sexy; mick jagger, bill gates etc... In most cases it's just a gold digger there for payday. They're paying for youth and beauty, the women put out for money.

I had to laugh at some of the replies.
OK so he is well off. But my sister did not know that until they met. She was just dipped into the dating scene and had a lot of common.

He is not bad looking for his age.
We were blessed as a family to have such a wonderful dad that since departed. But her last bf was 11 years older.

She always liked older guys.
My mom would go crazy. With this she mentioned the story to her friend who I could hear her laughing about it.
He is older then most of people that we would know. He mentioned to her that he went out with older and younger than her and maybe his a bit of a player.
