The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Swinging Into Sobriety!

Mouseface · 19/04/2017 00:57

Hello there,

I'm Mouse, one of the Brave Babes travelling far and wide, stopping off here and there to collect lovely folk, just like you, for a natter all about booze and the blues that come with being a drinker of whatever quantity.

We don't wear or sell judgey pants here, although a G-string or two (Oooh Matron!) has been known to sort the fan belt out on the Bus as we've been driving for such a long time now!! Grin

In short, we've regular posters here, lurkers, those who have managed to keep their drinking to 'social' occasions, some who are really struggling on an hourly basis and some who are completely dry!

Whatever your drinking 'status', you're welcome here in the new bigger Battle Bus, (as requested) whilst we head far and wide, listening to one another, as we face each day that comes our way, whether it be good, bad or downright ugly, we really have seen it all and don't mind one bit. Lurk or chat, it's up to you but one thing you will always find, is a warm welcome, Opal Fruit wrappers (Looks at Ma bosom push up! ) and of course, in complete confidentiality. Smile

So, if you'd like to look what happened on the last thread (a bit like catch up TV) you can look at this link which will take you there - JUST HERE

And, if you would like to see where we started driving this wonderful Bus, over seven years ago, you can have a look at this very honest thread - RIGHT HERE

Hope to see you soon,

Mouse xx

Beauty I can phone you if you're still having trouble. PM me and I'll send you my number. One thing about "real life" AA is that loads of people will give you their number (if you want them) and then you always have someone available 27/4. It's priceless support, IMO.

UnwiseOldElf · 09/05/2017 10:01

Mint what happened?!

MintToBee · 09/05/2017 10:11

I had a breakdown Sunday about it all, panic attacks, vomiting and dia, the works. So I just didn't go to work . I'm so relieved in a properly panicked sort of way.

dementedma · 09/05/2017 11:05

beauty are you ok? I think we cross posted and I just logged off seconds before.
mint are you ok too? Take a deep breath. What work do you have in the pipeline?

MintToBee · 09/05/2017 11:53

I'm off to the beach with the dogs via making a Doctor's appointment.
No work lined up ( although my friend can probably give me a few shifts in the hotel) and deep breaths aplenty right now. I can't stop shaking.
I've unplugged the home phone and taken the SIM out of my mobile. My anxiety levels are through the roof. I know I'm being stupid but I can't help veering towards a car crash of a breakdown.

phoenixashes9 · 09/05/2017 12:11

New here. Day 1 for me. Been on and off for some good time now.

Mint I am right here and I am in exactly your position. I gave the go-ahead yesterday to my union rep to resign.

The enormity of it is hitting me now. Have been in tears for days about what has happened to me career-wise

madein1995 · 09/05/2017 14:18

dubh how did the exercises go? Am laughing at the terrorists gyrating Grin

Hi spanna happy belated birthday to your dd! Smile

Will how are you today? Flowers I’m glad you have some RL support.

Hello lux

Hi Broken, well done on AF on Sunday

Hello and welcome beauty are you ok?

Happy belated birthday 42

Today good going on staying strong yesterday Smile

Still fab pics!

Doowhop Well done on 8 days Star

Mint how are you doing? I’m sorry you’re having a tough time, am glad you are making a doctors appointment Flowers thinking of you

Phoenix how are you doing? Please keep posting, lots of support here

I’m doing well. The gym plan is going well, am feeling a proper gym bunny also happy yesterday with congratulations off everyone at the badge Smile have pilates tonight, and back on track with the healthy eating. I did take three cocodamols night before last to get sleep Hmm my –stupid, idiotic—reasoning was I needed sleep for my early start (kind of true as it was 1am, couldn’t sleep and had to be up at 5). Course my body isn’t used to it anymore so combined with the 4 hours sleep I felt all groggy, that’ll teach me. Firmly back on the straight and narrow now.

CuileanDubh · 09/05/2017 14:24

Fucking hell mint!! Flowers I think you've done the right thing, when the thought of going in to work makes you feel that shitty, it is time to jack it in. You are v brave and I'm very proud of you. I'm not quite at that level yet but fucking close. Love my job, always have, but hate that office politics trumps all reason/politeness/actually fucking caring for patients.

mint I know you feel shit and sick with worry today but before too long you will feel invincible. And righteous! And on top of the world! You will be able to look at all your beautiful blossom with a light heart.

Glad that your friend can give you a few shifts, that will take the pressure off until you find something more permanent.

Fucking THAT proud of you!!!!!!! Xx

phoenix you will rise from the ashes, (sorry Blush ) you will, and you will soar!! What happened my dear? Xx

CuileanDubh · 09/05/2017 14:31

made hiya quine! The exercises went great but I am a bit sore today Blush I am no longer Bendy McBenderson from my Callanetics days.

But I bloody well will be if it kills me. Can't believe I've let myself go so badly. I am determined I'm not going to be as fat and fifty.

Thank you for your advice and help with this, I really appreciate it Flowers xx

CuileanDubh · 09/05/2017 14:36

P.S the terrorist is very enthusiastic with her sexy times. She, unlike me, is supremely bendy and has oodles of stamina. Hmm But she is one year old. A mere whippersnapper in comparison. 😀

MintToBee · 09/05/2017 15:43

Thank you all, you lot are awesome and your support is amazing. Appointment made for tomorrow morning and I'm back from the beach with a pocket full of gorgeous quartz and four wet and tired dogs.
Note that I took my SIM card out and not turn the mobile off so that I could still access MN from the WiFi. Grin
The gym will have to wait until I get my wages as I'm stuck out on the farm totally skint and can't justify the £45 weeks bus tickets. So this week is just for me in the sun getting myself together.
phoenixashes9 We'll get through this!
will Hope you are ok Flowers
Waves at every one else.

Am so feeling for you Mint but sure there will be brighter things ahead. I've also just heard that I lose my job in the next few months which so doesn't help with stress levels all I can think about is wine. Let's keep positive! Smile

Worried about Beauty, DMd her earlier also but no response there or here, please come back and let us know how you are?

Waves to all.

MintToBee · 09/05/2017 15:54

Brokenbutbreathing
I hear you on the wine. I'd kill for a bottle right now because of course, wine makes everything better...Confused

MintToBee · 09/05/2017 15:55

And fuck about your job. It doesn't get any easier does it!

dementedma · 09/05/2017 16:10

Fabulous beach mint.

Beauty can you let us know if you are ok?

madein1995 · 09/05/2017 17:39

Mint sometimes leaving a job you're not happy in works out well in the long run. It did for me, I've left two jobs where I wasn't happy and dreaded going in (and in the last one, where I felt unsafe going in) and it's worked out well. I'm working at Tesco, not a 'great' career or anything, but it's the first time since I started working (this time last year) that I've felt happy in my job. I don't dread going in, and I feel good at my job. Everyone deserves that happiness, and you will get it.

Broken I know exactly what you mean, when I lost the jobs I had a tendancy to drown my sorrows, it worked so well (she says sarcastically) well done on resisting Smile

Dubh glad the exercises went well, I did day 2 of personal training plan instructor at gym made for me and feeling it today Grin am going to pilates tonight for gentle exercise and the hope that it's not too energetic or stressful on my knees. Like your terrorist, Lils puts me to shame what with her chasing birds, leaping onto sofas after toys I've thrown and racing about when she's excited. I can't even use age as an excuse (she is 6 this year so in dogs years is 42)

MintToBee · 09/05/2017 18:14

made
You're so right.
I used to be a vet nurse and part of the problem I have is I can't get a job here. Very rural and I don't drive and hardly any by vets.I worked in sainsbury for two years and loved it. There's nothing wrong with a supermarket job.

So I put my big girl pants on and switched mobile on. And nothing from my ex work. Panic over nothing!!

I wish I could gather you all up and bring you up to the farm for a good weekend . I love you all!

WillAndDisgrace · 09/05/2017 18:28

mint that beach looks lovely! I hope you are ok and I hope the doctors can help. I feel a bit more positive today, (not sure how long that will last) but I've be used to book an app at the citizens Advice Bureau and with the doctor.

I need to have a proper read back to see what you've all been up to

madein well done for the gym and healthy eating!

dementedma · 09/05/2017 19:37

not remotely healthy here. Cant stop eating and of course, drinking!
Have an event tomorrow with a group of soldiers sigh. going to be tough...

CuileanDubh · 09/05/2017 20:24

dementedma · 09/05/2017 21:01

CuileanDubh · 09/05/2017 21:35

Combats you say?

No problem handling combats..

You jammy beggar Grin

dementedma · 09/05/2017 21:39

spanna41 · 09/05/2017 22:23
