Has anyone ever found an affair has improved their marriage?

Because I have! Love DH a lot but sex was sporadic and duty rather than desire.
I hooked up with this guy online, we messaged, he declared his feelings, I resisted for a few months then gave in. This has gone on for a year.... and as a result everything at home has got better. Better sex, more caring, more fun.
We both agreed that we are happy with our spouses but love the frisson of the affair. There are no plans on either side to leave and the thing is complementary rather than replacing.

Hmmare you for real?

Arealhumanbeing · 22/03/2017 21:23

Are you really called Pauline?

Notmyrealname85 · 22/03/2017 21:27

Christ think of this poor man's wife :( Imagine knowing your husband was on that site :(

Also shout-out to the poor girls doing the country's toughest job :(

Notwhatiexpected · 22/03/2017 21:28

@Notmyrealname85, hmmm not sure about the legals, but I bet once the kids find out what daddy was punting on the internet, they might not be so keen to hang out.

Internet it's weird right, people wouldn't say this stuff to another human in RL, because of shame, and dignity, but they will write it down, for it to last forever under a very thin veneer of anonymity. An already breakable veneer at that. Remember Ashley Madison? Do these fools really think that the email address and computer they use to access these sites can't be traced now, let alone in the future?!??

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 22/03/2017 21:41

Looks like Mr Ukpunting is back.... Hmm

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 22/03/2017 21:43

Oops, should have read the other posts first Blush

It is a bit obvious though, must try harder next time.

Notmyrealname85 · 22/03/2017 21:49

We're blatantly going to have another Ashley madison!! Well spouses, take half and get custody from these skin-crawlers!

"...the thing is complementary rather than replacing" - I think you misspelt "the thing is destructive and so creepy people don't admit to it in real life"

Shall we do a poll of women who've been cheated on - and the children of cheating spouses - and see what the general results are?

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 22/03/2017 22:16

So yesterday was free advertising for the "I have to pay for women to sleep with me" brigade, and today we are plugging no money/free hook ups sites or some such thing are we??

Some punters people must think we've just sailed down the Manchester Ship canal on the back of a fucking Ryvita.

0/10 Odious toads. Get back under your rock and continue licking the slime with your leathery backed buddies.

welshmist · 22/03/2017 22:20

I remember one marriage where this happened and was fine, but I think that was the exception rather than the rule, every other relationship I can think of where someone was unfaithful ended. Sometimes very messily.

Notwhatiexpected · 22/03/2017 22:29

If perhaps the OP isn't popping over from the slime site, it is rather answering her original question, that some of us think he/she might be!

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 22/03/2017 22:37

I think she's gone to count the pens...

spotthesaddo · 22/03/2017 22:37

Thing is is that we think ukpunters are all sad pathetic little men & not real men at all, a kind of sub-par disappointing desperate creepy men who are failing at life.

Not even very good at trolling, I would imagine also shit in bed. I pity those poor paid girls who have to endure that and if any of those saddos have managed to hoodwink some poor woman into being their wife then I pity her even more. I hope she finds out, finds someone better (clearly wouldn't be hard!) & takes every penny.

Now fuck off back under that bridge, there's a dear. 1/10, must try harder (in all areas, skanky pond scum!)

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 23/03/2017 12:23

I think the punter who posted on the relationships thread has also revived a zombie thread about a woman's husband visiting a doninatrix. It's the same style posting - gaps between the exclamation marks I think....the original thread was deleted so I can't be sure.

Best for all to just keep reporting.

simple answer in my own experience -- no!

Oblomov17 · 23/03/2017 16:13

Ha ha.
Your marriage has got better? Because you are thick as shit? Or an emotional imbecile?
Grin

fallenempires · 23/03/2017 17:13

Do you honestly think that anyone falls for this shite?
Biscuit for effort.

dilapidated · 23/03/2017 20:50

Going to get a lot of these threads for a while I think

160A4 · 23/03/2017 21:49
Hmm
Ineedmorelemonpledge · 24/03/2017 07:37

Pauline is apparently a joke way of discussing the Pauline privilege.

“To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife”

And apparently by using prostitution men are genuinely and kindly trying to stay in, and save their marriage, and keep the divorce rates stable.

Mumsnet has apparently caused more divorces than their chosen website. They apparently have the apostles on their side

But, within the biblical posturing the "Punters" seemed to have forgotten the Seventh Commandment, where the use of prostitution is forbidden after entering into marriage.

Silly little rabbits.
