I'm a regular mumsnetter before i get accused of being a troll! some people will totally hate me for this, but i want to look at some of my hubbie's old phone messages. i can get into his phone now--and after a big upset last year-he knows i frequently check his phone.right or wrong, i can't completely settle until i know exactly what he was up to with a third party.he hasn't told me the whole truth and to be quite honest i need to spy on him....!sorry if people totally disagree with me but i don't care. i just wondered if anyone knows how i can look at old/deleted etc.messages?

why bother - if he's being unfaithful - wy put up with it?

if theres no trust theres no marriage IMO.

I agree with custardo. Why reduce yourself to the level of a prying suspicious cheated upon wife. Have some dignity and either believe what he tells you or end your relationship.

DetentionGrrrl · 06/03/2007 10:31

you can't access deleted messages.

If you don't trust him, why bother? I think you need help to be honest.

wotzsaname · 06/03/2007 10:35

I dont think you can access deleated items. Sorry you feel the need to dp this. Phone numbers will be logged on the bill.

You have to think if the number appears, the message might have been "stop texting/calling me" rather than your worst fears!

you cant read deleted messages sent or received but with some phones you can see a log of received messages and sent messages the time and dates just not the content.

If money is no object you can go through Private Investigators and I believe some of them can obtain the content as long as you provide them with the sim card.

Bananaknickers · 06/03/2007 22:39

there is a device that does it. Just google cheating partners or deleted text. Not that I have used it but have seen it on the internet

Cashncarry · 06/03/2007 23:08

There's some software you can download off the internet (cost around £100) but you need a sim card reader as well (hardware). I think it only allows you to view quite recent messages so it's unlikely that you'll be able to look at messages from last year.

I only know this because I was a similar situation myself and looked into trying to get to the truth. I decided not to in the end (What Custardo, Carmenere and Detentiongrrl said!) but if you have the number and you're that bothered, why not just ring the person concerned? Sounds OTT but it's pretty OTT to be trying to look at messages from last year. Be prepared for what you find though, it might dredge up a lot of crap.... Good luck xx

I've - inadvertently! - come across an "SMS reader" (Approx £26.99 I seem to remember. Don't know if it works though....!?
