My DH is being a complete arehole atm!!! His poxy stupid football team is facing relegation and he is plunged into gloom, depression and bad-temper. Everything the kids did yesterday made him cross and I got told off once!!! I have some sympathy as I know it means a lot to him but I really really want him to snap out of it and get a grip. He says that 'real' footie fans are those whose teams have bad times - anyone can support the Man U's of this world but only real fans experience the heartache and the ups and downs blah blah... and similar such bollcks!! But no matter how awful he gets I simply would never say.....
'For crying out loud it's just a game!!' I simply wouldn't - he knows it is and he admits he's crazy but nothing will ever change him. He'd be so hurt if I said that. Stupid but there it is.
The other thing I would never say is'
'Your father was a selfish git who treated you and your mother like dirt and you really should get over his death and get to grips with the people (his mum and sisters) that you've got left' Beleive me his dad was a waste of space but he can't see it.
Anyone got some things that you really want to say sometimes but you would never dare unless you really wanted your relationship to go pear-shaped? Verbal skeletons in the closet?
