AIBU to expect a text?!

If DH is going to the pub after work rather than coming straight home? He's usually home by 6. It's 9pm. No contact to say he'll be late.

He does work hard so I've absolutely no problem about him having a few drinks after work on a Friday, but I really get pissed off if he can't send off one text to say that's what he's doing.

For context, I'm a SAHM. Two DC, 8 and 5. Married 15 years. The DC did ask where Daddy was before bedtime Confused

This is only a minor communication problem. He just needs to be realistic with timescales.

If he'd said, I'll be in at 3am this wouldn't have been a problem. He's over promised & under delivered

It's not difficult to tell someone where you are, I'd be wondering if his drinking buddy was a woman. Good luck op

I'd ask who he had been with to be so late. Especially if it's unusual for him

GruochMacAlpin · 07/01/2017 17:28

Naze it's not a minor communication problem if the OP has repeatedly asked him to let her know where he is.

It's not in any way unreasonable to ask your partner for a 5 second text to let them know you are going to be 6 hours later home than usual.

Trifleorbust · 07/01/2017 17:34

I think it is bloody rude to leave your partner in sole charge of your children without checking that your arrangements suit them. What if the OP had needed to go somewhere or do something?

Yes agree with that what if she had a emergency
