i need to know who sent me a lovely red rose today

myself and dh exchanged valentines cards this morning and had also bought each other chocs.
later on a red rose gets delivered, it says to mildred, thinking of you, George xxx

so, i am surprised but obviously think dh has sent it. but, his face was not what i expected and he insists he didn't.

at first i thought he had but really,

he NEVER gets flowers delivered, just buys them and george and mildred just isn't his style!

could i find out do you think? the florist ouldn't be able to tell me would they?

I suspect it is your DH but ring the florist anyway, you never know they may well be able to give a name if it was paid for my card etc if it was cash then you have no hope.

Mistake by the florist. Somewhere in a nearby street there's a hubby having a very rough time because his wife didn't get that rose...

yeah i did wonder about it being somebody elses

but, i am now convinced it isn't dh as i have just heard him on the phone telling someone about it and he thought i was in the bath.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to burst your bubble. I'm sure you have loads of admirers - but hope they'd have the sensitivity NOT to send a single red rose to a married lady, causing possible doubt and ructions, eh? Not to mention that "George and Mildred" doesn't sound terribly romantic. Bad enough if he thought you look like Yootha Joyce, but suppose he looks like Brian Murphy? Argh!

No, no, a mistake is best all round.

i phoned and the florist wouldn't tell me! she said she remember him coming in to the shop and that he wanted to be anonymous.
i tried but no way would she tell me.
not getting involved she said!
