And to make matters worse, our usual childminder is off sick and ds is being looked after by someone else, FOR FREE. And this is how we repay her.

Dh and I had arranged that I would work late and that he would pick ds up.... but no. I got a message from him saying "oh no, I've messed up" and got there as quick as I could but that wasn't until 6.45 when we are supposed to be there at 5.15. She was very good about it. I was fecking mortified.

Just needed to get that off my chest!

Perhaps DH needs to pop round there with a box of chocs to say sorry ?

OMG I would be mortified too!

my next door neighbour did this, she forgot to pick up her ds from the childminder, well actually she got home from work and got totally stoned then bout 2 hours later when her dp got home she realised she was supposed to pick up ds from the minder (i can hear everything thru my walls)

and bottles of wine

TinyGang · 08/02/2007 20:35

Oh dear - I'd be cross but I think I could see a bit of a funny side. Bottle of wine for the lady who was nice about it pehaps?

Dh went to collect dd once from the wrong friends house. You know how men are about only listening to about 20% of what you say...'yeah yeah I know where you mean blah blah' Drives off/red face.

my dh went to pick up ds from school, i was actulaly worried he would go to his primary school, now in year 7. imagine how mortifying that would be! (grin) twas ok though.

FrayedKnot · 08/02/2007 22:11

DH could easily do this, or get held up. I usually phone him just before he's due to collect him to make sure everything is OK.
