Is Dh trying to tell me mil doesn't like me ?

Mil's rabbit sadly died. When I reported the news to Dh, he was very sad and he told me the rabbit was like the daughter she never had...I feel weird about him saying that.

It's just a phrase, isn't it? Meaning "loved a lot"?

Oh that made me laugh TheNaze73 Grin

I guess we'd like our MIL to feel we were the daughter they never had - bit much to be overtaken by a rabbit in the affection stakes! Flowers

I guess if i got on well with my mil(deceased before i met dh) id be fairly pissed off with dh with that kinda statement.

Why you are buying somebody else's mother flowers for mother's day, is the real problem.

Op it's a bit odd that you are taking as a slight on you.

If your oh was inclined he could say she wished he was born a girl, but it's just bizarre.

It's relatively normal for people to love their pets as if they were human/children.

happypoobum · 13/09/2016 20:24

OP do you have form for assuming EVERYTHING ANYONE SAYS is about you?

CuriousPorge1975 · 13/09/2016 20:40

If the rabbit was pink and vibrated I suspect she did in fact enjoy her company much more than yours. Terrible, terrible loss. Please pass on my condolences.

Waltermittythesequel · 13/09/2016 20:43

Have you ever let her stroke you? No? Then the rabbit wins.
