"What, with your figure?"

Last week I was in the supermarket with my DP, we were discussing curries, indian food etc and I said "since I'm trying to lose weight I'm trying not to eat curries..." he agree'd and then I said "I love curry though!" in a jokey way and he turned really sarcky and said "what, with your figure??nooo..." I was a bit taken back by it and he then said "that was a bit derogatary actually wasnt it, sorry".

Ok so he did apologise but I really am sick of him making comments like this, he does it in a jokey fashion but I don't feel I deserve to be pulled down constantly, or am I over-reacting since he apologised etc? Am I too sensitive?

No, your not over reacting, he's a fuckwit.

Remove all sexual pleasures and tell him thats the way it is until he looks like Jonny Depp.

and
I woyld have been gutted...

Didn't you just say in your other thread that he was overweight ?

I bloody hate men who sneer at women because they've "let themselves go" or because they haven't made "an effort", when they themselves look like Les Battersby or Shadrach Dingle.

It's quite astonishing though how often you overhear truly repulsive men commenting in the nastiest way about women who look ten times better than they do (but who don't live up to their page 3 fantasy).

I'd have been mad in your shoes.

Why are you with him?

Because judging by your threads over the last couple of days, you don't like the guy very much.

bigknickersbigknockers · 01/02/2007 17:20

Madmarchhare hit the nail on the head. I get this often, my DH goes on a diet and expects all forbidden foods to be kept out of his way. He then goes to work and leaves me to feed the kids who arent on a bloody diet so I have to cook for them and fight the temptation to eat the leftovers by myself. You should definatly follow MMHares advice and stop all sexual pleasures till he belts up

"Because judging by your threads over the last couple of days, you don't like the guy very much. "

I do like him but he has the uncanny ability to insult me and then make it seem as if he didn't, sometimes I just wonder if its me getting too irritable.

madmarchhare · 01/02/2007 21:15

'sometimes I just wonder if its me getting too irritable'

Hes an even bigger arse than I thought if he can get you to think this as well.
