Hi, I've recently split with my husband of eighteen years as we have grown apart. I knew he was becoming detached but couldn't seem to bring him back. We have three young children together. He says he's not in love with me anymore and we are getting a divorce. I just feel like we are meant to be together and while I know it's probably never going to happen and right now I wouldn't have him back, have things ever changed for anyone and youve found yourselves falling back in love?

Thanks these stories are so interesting. Some good advice too. I suppose, what will be, will be. I read a good quote recently, it said
'No point worrying about the coulda, if it shoulda then it woulda'.

I have two friends whose parents divorced in middle age and then got back together again, happily, later.

Some reconciliations do work out, some don't. I guess because you're building it up in your head because it's all you want, and you want it so badly, it might not end up being that big old fairytale reconciliation you anticipated for so long.
All you can do is roll with the punches and see where your path takes you.

New you're welcome. I went through it all wanting him back in my early teens with an EA relationship and that tip I just gave genuinley is what helped me pull through and see the light.

That's exactly it - Rose tinted 'n' all! You've kinda made me (almost) see, there ARE positives to my current situation. I think it's the first time in a year I've read something and genuinely smiled and thought YES!!!
