What are your ideas for dating your dh/dp?

My dh and I have a beautiful 10 week old ds. My dh works a lot, including shifts that don't end til about 9pm. Most of the nights we're at home we're just hanging out normally, watching tv and giving lots of attention to our ds.

Sometimes, however, I feel like doing something special. Do any mners have creative ideas for "dating" your dh/dp?

At home or going out? I must admit i find it easier when we go out because it is harder to switch off at home, but don't know who you are fixed for babysitters for a 10 week old.

a friend has 'date nights' with her dh

basically - one of them cooks, they open a bottle of wine, no tv all evening, sit and talk. they even () snog

I prefer to go out too although we don't very often. My mum is great and will take my 2 overnight for us so we can go away to a hotel but I think dd was about 6 months before I had my first night away from her. Ds was about 8 weeks. I find it easier to unwind and have fun when we are away from the house. I suppose at home everything around me reminds me of my role as mum and I need to get away from that to rekindle that 'prechildren couple on a date' feeling
