Internet History showing porn

isheisntheishe · 12/02/2016 16:23

OH swears blind he hasn't been looking at porno sites, but whenever I clear internet history it shows that somebody has been looking.
And it's not me.

Before anybody says what am I doing snooping, it's a laptop we both use.
Is it possible he's telling the truth, and these sites have just magically appeared? Hmm

Or am I being incredibly naive.

He has been watching porn

If it was pop ups then his answer would have been "no I haven't but I was looking at X (non porn site) and pop ups came up. But then I closed them"

FrameyMcFrame · 12/02/2016 17:09

It's not a virus.

Can't he clear the browsing history after his Hmm

BadDoGooder · 12/02/2016 17:16

You might have to add the options for date and time etc when you open the history box. It's the columns at the top that has Name, Location etc on it.

I'm sorry you've found out like this. It's not nice finding other sides of people.
It might be worth looking and seeing what thoe of thing he has been looking at, it might be really mild stuff, or it might be an odd fetish or something, but good to have the knowledge.

david8341 · 12/02/2016 17:41

Technically it's possible for them to magically appear.

It could be he's visiting some dodgy, but not porn, site (pirating films or whatever) that opens popups to porn sites.

It could also be a naughty browser plugin or a dodgy site that he's visiting is doing some affiliate fraud - opening sites using their affiliate code in the background to get commission. This is a major thing that does happen and people have even gone to prison for but they usually use big web stores like amazon rather than porn.

You'd be able to tell from what's in the history though - is it the odd visit here and there or does it look like he's gone to the site, searched, looked at videos.

isheisntheishe · 12/02/2016 17:51

david, he's not clever enough to know how to pirate a film, let alone anything else.
He doesn't even text.

BadDo, I now have it showing the time, so it will be interesting to know if there is a pattern when he is mainly doing the deed. Wink

Ishe, does it appear to be regular old porn?

isheisntheishe · 12/02/2016 18:08

There's a lot of boobs mentioned. Hmm

He is a boob man.

OP posts:
stumblymonkey · 12/02/2016 18:10

So, yes he's been looking at porn...and it's not ideal that he's fibbed about it.

What is the issue with him looking at porn though?

IME the vast majority of adult males look at porn.

Iamdobby63 · 12/02/2016 18:13

Ishe, oh well at least the boobs weren't a surprise to you!

I asked earlier how you felt about him looking at porn? It goes without saying that you would be upset at the lying.

isheisntheishe · 12/02/2016 18:15

I've always thought it's mainly younger men looked at porn.
and seen it as a bit immature.
I would have thought most men would have grown out of it by the time they're over 50.

Shows how much I know.

OP posts:
ScarletForYa · 12/02/2016 18:15

Doesn't he realise that everything he's looked at is there in the history, timestamped?

That's actually quite quaint!

peggyundercrackers · 12/02/2016 18:17

I'm surprised you think men don't like looking at tits, even over 50s...

Oysterbabe · 12/02/2016 18:17

When my dad was in hospital last year my mum found his porn stash in a drawer when she was sorting out some clothes for him. He'll be 70 this year. Dirty old sod Grin

isheisntheishe · 12/02/2016 18:18

No.
And I'm not telling him.
Now I've got over my initial shock I want to see what else he's been looking at.

OP posts:
Iamdobby63 · 12/02/2016 18:19

No men of all ages do it. I'm sure my hubby (over 50) would if only he could figure out how to turn the computer on! Lol

Imo it's only a problem if it gets in the way of your relationship or becomes obsessive, perhaps he may even lose interest when it's not so secretive.

Iamdobby63 · 12/02/2016 18:21

Sorry, typing slow. That's fair enough, you have to know exactly what you are dealing with before deciding how to handle it.

BadDoGooder · 12/02/2016 18:32

Glad to have been of service!

I would keep an eye on it.
For me it wouldn't be the porn, unless it was some seriously Hmm stuff. It's the out and out lying that would annoy me.

But each to their own, and I have spent long enough on MN to know that for some people would be upset by this, and I think you have a right to know what he's looking at and when.

Angieyy1 · 12/02/2016 19:47

its something that has never bothered me ! Most men if not all will do it.

allegretto · 12/02/2016 19:51

It would bother me too and pretty sure DH doesn't know about browsing history either!

Fugghetaboutit · 12/02/2016 19:55

Boobs is better than ass-to-mouth and milfs like I found.

Iamdobby63 · 12/02/2016 20:12

^^^ Ewwwwwww

Fugghetaboutit · 12/02/2016 20:16

Tell me about it.

Fugghetaboutit · 12/02/2016 20:17

He's the most vanilla guy in bed too Grin
