my mil has volunteered herself to make mince pies for bil's wedding, when everyone arrives with welcome drink- everything else is being done by the caterers.
i have a fairly difficult relationship with my inl's and although they haven't asked if i could help, half of me feels like maybe i should. the other half of me feels like i should say stuff them after the way they have been.
should i say that i was making some for us and had some left over?

When is your bil getting married?

i wouldnt, she might take it as you trying to muscle in on what she is doing. if you want to do somthing to help then offer and she has the chance to say no. but i wouldnt feel like i had to offer, it isnt exactly a lot of work probably just that she wanted to do something for them

I would ask first, just say you are making some for yourself and would she like you to make some extra.
