I'm just wondering if any of you have proposed to a man?

If so how did you do it and what sort of a response did you get?

I proposed to my DP- we're getting married in June. I bought him a ring, and got down on one knee; told him i loved him, and i never wanted to be without him, and would he marry me. He's not one for soppy talk himself- he took the ring from me and put it on his finger. I asked if that was a yes, and he said it was. It was terrifying! Didn't help that i'd been planning it for ages, and had told everyone in work about it, so they were all waiting to find out what happened...good job he said yes!

Yes, I got a yes. And I left him a few months before the wedding.

But he did say Yes!

Been proposed to 4 times, proposed once; engaged three times; been actually given a ring twice; married once. Still am. One of those was someone I never met before- obv refused but a little of me wonder.... (though I was very, very drink )

One I proposed to was a knob, so quiet he could go weeks without talking. And ate the same meal every day without fail (weetabix / tuna sandwich / dinner could vary- chicken kiev or steak).

One I never got a ring was first love- stilla dore him but ife took us elsewhere. lovely lovely LOVELY chap, still unmarried- no idea why.

DH is OK though although he proposed naked on Valentimnes Day which wa as cheesya s you can get

I proposed to DP, but only cos he told me that if i wanted to get married i had to ask him cos e wasn't going to ask me!! So romantic! Lol had to go n choose my own engagement ring too!

I did!

It was early in the morning, between xmas and new year 2004, we were both hung over and tired and just woken up. He didn't have much of a chance did he? But he said "YES"

which was fantastic.

I told him I wanted a child. I also pointed out that my sister was forced by the Home Office to get married so her daughter could have a British passport. So did he want a child and should we get married?

Peachy, what made you propose to the foodfreak? Actually he sounds just like my ex-h so I can't talk .
